Mine would have to be LBP. The replayability and create mode is unmatched to me

LBP. A game which can only be enjoyed if you have actually played it. Galaxy was great while it lasted, haven't played a PS3 R&C yet, seen and don't want to play ME. LBP had quite a lasting effect. You start thinking about levels you could make whenever you doing anything, playing another game, sitting on the toilet, etc.
Umm, well I actually think I'd have to give the nudge to Henry Hatsworth.
It's like a ninja gaiden/tetris attack blend of awesome. And I don't mean the new Ninja Gaiden, but the old NES ones (this has more to do with the inferiority of the DS hardware than anything). It's a bit deeper than Ninja Gaiden combat-wise though.
Also the music is awesome :) I downloaded the whole soundtrack from EA's website.
It's really difficult imo. At least the later boss fights. They made me want to throw my DS :P Which I can because handhelds are convinient that way :P
Seriously why even make this thread? It's so obvious and for anyone who didn't vote smg, you're just wrong, and possibly retarded.

LBP says Hi.
I edited when I noticed the LBP option. Have a reread! hahaLBP rocks as a creative tool, but it's pretty damn flawed as a platformer. The mechanics are floaty and janky. And I love LBP. But as a straight up platformer, it can't compete.
SMG owns LBP tooSeriously why even make this thread? It's so obvious idk who wouldn't vote for LBP.
EDIT: Ok I supposed I could see some vote for LBP being warranted. But anything else just = fail.

Hmm ive never played a mario game, but i will be playing NSMB to see why people say Super Mario gameplay is so much better than LBP, cause i dont see how, must just be one of those things were you need to play it.LBP rocks as a creative tool, but it's pretty damn flawed as a platformer. This is bs. I hate the comment floaty jumping. Because guess what it is complete fanboy bs. The reason why it is mentioned is because you want it to be mario jumping. It takes 30 minutes, 30 minutes of playing to get used to it. The only problem with the platforming is the switching planes and the auto plane stuff is 1% wrong on jumps resulting in problems. But a flawed platformer it is not. Just different controls than mario which is absoloutly fine tbh. And another thing lbp is one of the greatest games of all time with super mario galaxy. So the debate is really between those 2 games. The others aren't nearly as great.LBP rocks as a creative tool, but it's pretty damn flawed as a platformer. The mechanics are floaty and janky. I really liked SMG too. However to me Braid did something never seen before in a platformer. Braid is a puzzle game not a platformer :(. . . .That's like calling Halo an arcade racer not a FPS.[QUOTE="mythrol"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]
Nothing touches SMG... nothing.

2D: Braid
3D: Mirror's Edge

Look up some of the better LBP levels on youtube (you'll find them) or better yet, play them. SMG doesn't come close when it comes to variety, difficulty, creativity, accessibility, and every other ty that there is.

I don't need the excuses.
LBP's platforming mechanics are floaty and not nearly as top notch and precise as those of SMG. That's it.
Oh yes, and you reminded me of the 3 planes, which leads little Sackboy hipping and hopping between the 3 like a child on speed. Imprecise is putting it nicely.

I would have to say Mario Galaxy, but only by a very slim margin. LBP was also an amazing game and the creation tools are a real inspiration to the genre.
It's funny how everyone with a PS3 logo says LBP is the best (and vice versa), system wars is so much like a retarded child lol.

Braid is a platformer/puzzler hybrid, just like Henry Hatsworth.
Sigh.

Yet, it's still very fun.

There's a ton of precision jumping in Braid. The entire core of the mechanics is figuring out how to PLATFORM to an area and get puzzle pieces. That's why it's the best this gen. It's not the rehash of what platformers normally are. It actually MOVES the genre FORWARD.

Still fun? You bet.
But a better platformer than SMG? No way.
I like them all, but I like Shadow Complex the most.
