CiT is doing pretty mediocore. Also, Yoshi's island is the best platformer ever lol.

I would consider myself a more creative type, so I love LBP and the level editor. However, the actual platforming aspect could have been better.

SMG.

Super Mario Galaxy (One of the best games EVER), but it's sad that the Sequel to Banjo-Tooie fails compared to SMG considering the Hype.

Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite platformer (and favorite game) this gen, easily. It's just too much fun. Still, I haven't played any of the ps3 ratchet and clank games yet (only demos) and I really want to. Ratchet and Clank is definitely a very solid franchise.

almost forgot to mention, deblob, while not as good as smg, is a fantastic platformer as well. Anyone who owns a wii should go get it. It's a blast.

First time I've heard Super Mario World given that name.

Best 3D would be either Galaxy or A Crack in Time.

Best 2D would be LittleBigPlanet or New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Little Big Planet by a wide margin. It's so damn creative and off the wall it sends games like SMG out to pasture. I don't expect people who still care about Mario to look for innovation, though. No, the waggle doesn't count.
