Stalker isn't really innovative though, it took concepts from other games and blended them together to make a really good series. Don't get me wrong, I love the series and really has such an amazing atmosphere.

Then I should go back and play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl again one of these days. I have it installed on my computer, but I'm too busy playing Borderlands 2 right now.

That was Valve that did that.

I loved Fallout 3 because it takes place where I live. It was cool seeing an entire dilapitated landscape with a bunch of destroyed buildings and overrun by mutants.

Metro 2033 was also very cool.

Am I the only one who thinks that Fallout 3 meets all of SNIPER4321 criteria of "innovation"?

Nop, i was thinking the same.

For me it has to be Fallout 3, i wasn't expecting that much of this game but i enjoyed it a lot.

Fallout 3/New Vegas. So much depth and atmosphere to them.

But if we are talking just about atmosphere and story, then Metro. Even with all of it's bugs and crap AI, it still nails it in those areas.

Rage was too short I felt. But it was fun while it lasted. The open world is rediculously small though.
