For me it was the Resident Evil re-make for the Gamecube.

There are a bunch of great ones. THough for me personally 2, the REmake or Code veronica.

Tie between Code: Veronica and the Resident Evil remake for Gamecube.

Might get some hate for this. Having played all the RE games, I can say that I had the most fun with RE 5. Co-op with the wife and others online was just a blast. Beat the game like 10 times over. I can't say that about any of the other titles, even though I enjoyed practically all of them.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I've beaten RE 5 countless times. The weapon upgrade and figure collecting systems are incredibly addicting.

For me Resident Evil 2 was the best. IMO it just had more thinking to it. Closely followed by Code:Veronica.

Between this 3 for me:

One of the few games that have truly scared me, the atmosphere is on par with other great games like Silent Hill 3, and those red zombies, man, great game.

The last clasic RE, and a damn fine one, not to mention, the last time we saw both Claire and Chris (as a normal human and not as a scary muscular freak :P)

This game took everythig that make RE great and improve it 100%, i remember the first time i saw the intro, my jaw drop so hard i couldn't believe it, sure it was CGI but very impressive for that time, besides the game was damn fun.

Why do people like code veronica so much? Because it had a cross-dresser in it? Code veronica is my least favorite RE.

Resident Evil Remake without a question. I wonder how great Resident Evil 4 and 5 would have been if they followed the REmake design and improved it.

Yeah I agree. IMO from 4 onwards it all got a bit silly. For me, Resident Evil ended at Code:Veronica.

It had some elements at first, since you had very few ammo for that many enemies and you really had to use strategies to survive and/or to avoid enemies while trying to save ammo, that was until Leon became Rambo and had an entire arsenal to dispatch everyone.

RE4, considering it was the first one with acceptable controls

4, its really leagues above the other games in the series.

It earned its highest rated game in the series for a reason,
