Best Resident Evil game up until now..? and your worst..?

Best: RE4 and REmake

Worst: RE3 (if RE4 and RE5 are clones, RE2 and RE3 are worst) neither of those games are bad though

Best: RE4

worst: I don't play that many RE games to have a "worst." I guess RE1 on the Saturn but it was good for its time.

RE5 is my favorite.

Worst are those Outbreak versions they made a few years back.

Because RE games are supposed to be a scary.

RE5 was not scary at all.

And it had terrible controls.

I love me some RE4. Also, RE5 is rather awesome as well, the haters can continue to hate haha.

Best: RE- Directors CUT (PSX), RE2 (PSX), RE0 (GC).

Worst: RE5, any of the gun survivors or rail shooters.

Best resi 1 for playstation as it the only one in series with suspence,survivor or 5 the worse,hyping physics on earrings and then not putting it on enemies for resi 5 is just a joke IMO not to mention the story was stupid even by resi evil self destruct system standards

Best: RE4, no doubt Code Veronica was very good as well.

Worst: Not sure, but I couldnt finish the original... Yeah, it's wierd since I really dont mind production values when playing classics, but in this case its different. Dont get me wrong, REmake was great.

the worst resident evil is this random FPS, you wake up not know who you are you kill a few zombies then get a phone call from i think the mayor or something. thats all i can remember from it, it;s not dead aim(that was the one with the light gun right?)
for me the best was RE2 second disc,, MR.X. that is all im gonna say about that

I dislike RE5 for these reasons:

1. Having a partner dampens the horror feel of being alone and out numbered.

2. Was more focussed on action and grotesque enemies than true horror.

2. Long quick time events to progress in the game....

3. Sheva's Ai RUINED the game for me. Co op with a serious player/friend or nothing.

Resident Evil 5 was the equivalent of an American horror movie reboot, or take on Japanese horror film.

I grew up with the originals in the 90's so I have to go with the REmake. It was fantastic.

RE4 gets an honorable mention just for being as good as it was.

RE4 and REmake are the best, RE5 is the worst

Well REmake is definitely the best survival horror game out of the series. Not one game could compare to it, the PlayStation games seemed very camp, and Code Veronica followed suit. Though REmake took the great Resident Evil formula, and added an incredible atmosphere, and subtracted the camp. Plus the graphics were great. Resident Evil 4 was probably the best game (in general) out of the series though, it had immense replay value, some of the best graphics (fully 3D) last gen, and was just plain fun.

Edit: Resident Evil 5 sucked... hard, all it had were great graphics, but wow... it doesn't deserve the Resident Evil title

Im not sure how anyone could think RE5 is the worst. I know expectations were so high after RE4 revived the series and RE5 just kind of followed up on that . Regardless RE is a great franchize and people who dont like where the sereis has gone Id hate to tell you but games have to evolve . I went back and played the Old RE remake on gamecube and as great as it was for its time , the gameplay is simply way to outdated. Each frame has a fixed camera basically not allowing you to see enemies in the other room and the backrounds have 0 interactivity at all as they were all pre-rendered. I think it would be cool if they added more scary moments in future installments but I do enjoy the way the series is evolving overall.

RE4 felt like it had less atmosphere then the others. It was right on the fence of going over to uber action with RE5 pushing to real hard over. While RE4 is a fine game it just didint feel right to me as a RE game. Thats just my thoughts. Also the controls just felt like they changed it a tiny bit and changed thecamras thats all. He still moves basicly like a tank. Just looks nicer in that view and can transition a bit more better.

And some people just like the orginals more. I more is that so hard to accept. Like I said I give RE4 credit for being a good game.

Old zombies slowly getting close is scary as hell lol and yes i have played every RE game even the awful gun survivor tho i did enjoy them at the time

Resi 2 the best, worst...dunno, didn't really enjoy 4, but I think the overhype ruined it for me.

Everyone who said RE2 is the best gets a hug from me.

Also, you can't attack RE fans for not liking the direction the series has taken RE4 onwards. For me, it wasn't the change in camera angles that ruined (ruined is a strong word, but ill use it anyway) the series, it was the fact the game played just like a third person shooter.

• It was linear
• there was a severe lack of puzzles, and the puzzles it did have required little to no thought at all.
• Ammo was plentiful, herbs were plentiful
• you had loads and loads of inventory space
• stupidly you came across a merchant every so often who would sell you weapons and ammo :| I mean really, its meant to be a survival horror yet you've got Resident evils own Drebin helping you out
