Humble Indie Bundles. I try to pay about a $1/game. Ridiculous value for some of the best games around. Machinarium, Braid, World of Goo, Torchlight, Revenge of the Titans, ect.
The Halo games. Always content rich, and quality.
Team Fortress 2: It's free and keeps getting updates.
Fallout NV Ult edition: There's just too much here.
Call of Duty games MW2 and onwards: Say what you want about the game, but these games pack a lot of stuff in the box. MW3 saw an epic campaign (short but whatever) the essential multiplayer packed with modes, Special Ops with great missions and even a decent survival mode.
Medal of Honor, that was the best reboot game ever made.JohnF111
But how was that value? It was a fairly average package.

Best value I've had in a game, I must have gotten about 100 hours out of it and then some and I still want to keep playing. I've played Skyrim and gotten bored of it in like 40 hours.I lol @ console exclusives (esp this year) in terms of the amount of content they contain vs cost.blue_hazy_basicHalo 4
Football Manager
Orange Box
GTA 3 and up
Assassin's Creed 2 and up
Total War games

Freedomfreak is definitely in the running for most boring person here. He should probably work on getting a personality and possibly stop posting on GameSpot all the time.DrasonakI really should. But I won't.
This gen i have to go with both The King of Fighters XIII and SSBB, i have spent so many hours with this games, easily above 100 hrs each and while nowadays i don't play SSBB that much, i still love to play KOF XIII, there are just so much to learn in each fight its impossible for me to put it down.
As for SP games, Xenoblade Chronicles no contest, the game is huge and filled with content and even if you don't want to make any sidequest, you still have a top notch RPG experience that will easily last you 40hrs.

Anything with alot of online like L4D, CoD, MAG, Starhawk, etc you can play these games for years.
I would say WoW is a good value but $15/mo is not as cheap as $0/mo
His sigs are far more interesting than anything you've had to say so far..... There is no better value in gaming, or more bang for your buck than the Orange Box. I know it's old, but man was it awesome when it came out. Especially for me cause I never played Half Life until then :)
Killing floor
Gmod
Halo 3
Guild wars
Weird list really but money/hours wise these games have been the best value for money
In no real order:
-Diablo III (Well over 250 hours, no end in sight, Blizz only adding more and more content through free patches, yes, patches, not DLC or expansions)
-Portal 2 (User created levels... mods... Steam Workshop)
-Crysis (Mods, so many mods. Also, I have played through the vanilla game 5 times which is a lot given this gen's quality of SP shooters)
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, but mostly SoT (Mods again. Just too many great mods for an already amazing game)
-Orange Box (Should be obvious)
-Battlefield 3 (Over 300 hours logged into the multiplayer. Just so good.)
-Battlefield 2142 (Favorite shooter of all time. Well over 500-600 hours. Pretty sure it's considered to be in this gen.)
Have yet to pay $60 for a game but League of Legends has offered me well over 1000 hours of gameplay at no cost.
-Dark Souls: I went into the game expecting some masochistic piece of crap like the old old dungeon crawlers. What I got was a really nice paced dungeon crawler with an awesome world, great combat, nice variation in said world, an amazing meta-world story, and some of the best boss music in a game. This one can easily get 2 or 3 playthroughs before burn out kicks in.

You just named everything I love about Dark Souls, especially its world, "story", and atmosphere. It lends so much to the game with such good combat and mechanics.
Almost makes me wish I hadn't spoiled it with a Let's Play, but that is what made me want it so badly, I'll let Demon's Souls be my blank slate... you know... when I actually get a PS3.
Why is it like the last 20ish posts in this thread are dedicated to whiteknighting freedomfreak?jg4xchampsomeone said something mean on the internet it must be made right
