Whats the Best Western RPG???

I have to say..... Either Fallout 3 or oblivion or mass effect.......

but probably fallout 3. (i love bioshock, but im not putting it as a voting option because it is NOT an RPG. its an FPS)

Phantasy Star Online. Then Kotor.

Easily Mass Effect, but if we're going by all time so far I would have to go with ES morrowind.

Mass Effect. Kotor a close second. Oblivion/FO3 were boring imo. Fable 2 was average.fenwickhotmail

really? fallout 3 and oblivion boring? i mean i guess i understand with all the walking, but i found them to be completely and utterly enthralling.

The inclusion of KOTOR threw me for a loop. Definitely have to go with it.

From that list I would choose Mass Effect as the best wrpg, although I am not a great fan of it (or any other game from the listed 5).

1 - Oblivion

2 - Mass Effect

3 - Fallout 3

4 - KOTOR1

PlaneScape Torment, from that list I would go with Kotor 1 and Mass Effect.

All great games but Mass Effect blew me away.

Anyways, I guess the first KOTR.

Oblivion... but I only liked it after installing over a hundred mods. It sort of became a different game.

I had most fun with Fallout 3...since i played 1 and 2 so im going with 3

Witcher is the only one I can really stand, but it's not a WRPG its EuropeanCouth_

RPGs made in Europe are still WRPGs. WRPG pretty much just means "Not-Japanese RPG" as opposed to actually having anything to do with being in the Western Hemisphere or anything.

Not really.. Most people just assume if it's not Japanese it's Western.. It's really not. People forget Europe develops games too :? They are not all the way East, but it's definitely not West. Maybe we can start calling them Northern RPGs :P.. Couth_

But then what do we call the game if it was made on one of the Africian countries close to the Prime Meridian but also located on the equator :shock:

Seriously though, I don't know why we even bother classifying RPGs based off of the geographical locations of their developer.

We don't use the terms "JTPS" and "WTPS" to differentiate between games like Lost Planet 2 and Gears of War 2.

The only thing 'western' about it is that it's an action RPG, but that means a good amount of other JRPGs are WRPGs.

Hmm I would have to go with KOTOR since it's one of my favorite games. Fallout 3 was amazing but the main quests could have been a bit better. Oblivion felt like a huge place with nothing to do and got boring very fast. Mass Effect could have been great if the side-quests were fixed. As for Fable, I recently borrowed Fable 2 from a friend of mine for a few days and in the short time I played it I can say that it was a great game... I definately have to borrow it again and finish it sometime.

Pfffft.. WTF "boy" do you think jrpg are only for boys wrpg's suck compared to jrpg's for they have better stories and characters than any wrpg out there so

KotOR and Vampire Bloodlines > Mass Effect and Fable II > Oblivion > Fallout 3.

I have not played the sequel to KotOR.
Fallout 3 is technically the better game these days, but Oblivion had more of an impact. And for some reason I wasn't as annoyed by its characters.
