Different results for different peoplethats why i thought i would give as much information as i could, don't get me wrong, i am not excusing the way bethesda has screwed Ps3 owners, like i said before, they should all be made to pull there trousers down to there ankles, forced to put there thumbs in there mouths and then paraded down the street whilst Ps3 owners who have had problems should be allowed to throw rotten vegetables at them, then they should apologise to everyone who bought the game on Ps3 and either fix the damn game or refund them.

The force is strong in this one.
They are lazy or they dont have any QA worth mentioning. But its okey. They get a free pass because they are bethesda and their game is awesome... Ok to bad its not that awesome.... Its only Oblivion v2.0 nothing special overall average.KalDurenik
I'd like to see you test the game and find all the glitches, bugs, and problem, and then write out a whole page worth of what is wrong with the game and then go back and maybe spend over 500 hours combing the world making sure that everything is perfect. Rinse and repeat.
Face it, no one can test a Bethesda game, they'd be doing it till the day the cows come home...which will never happen BTW. ;)

Not sure if you are serious. Unless you are saying that they only had 1 QA person working there. I guess it would make sense but that brings it back to "they dont have any QA worth mentioning".[QUOTE="Goyoshi12"][QUOTE="KalDurenik"]They are lazy or they dont have any QA worth mentioning. Anyways, no I don't mean they only had one I was saying I would like to see YOU test the game and help find all the glitches. With everything that goes on in the game and given the factors of the time, the place, the action, and the player's involvement, it's hard to say that the QA will fnd everything wrong with the game. I mean, some glitches can probably be made by player command and the player would hardly know what happened or if he inntiated the command.
Not to mention, yeah, there may have been many QA or their might be little to none, the fact still remains that there will be some gltiches that can never be caught. No matter how hard you work at the problem. :(

finally a smart comment from this guy
You underestimate humans and the human brain. We learn areas, environments and landmarks by remembering big differences but not always small differences. Even games require spatial awareness, orientation and learning. Look up on experiments with original Doom if you're interested. It's not helping if every rock formation or tree looks the same, even if they differ in minute details in Skyrim.
DrTrafalgarLaw
Even in architecture, where the use of the same tree is glaringly obvious (It's often either a slight color or transparency change between the same 2D model) no one cares about variation among tree. I've got 4 years of precedent of people just not caring about trees.
All you got is this vague psychological claim that I am underestimating the human brain. I don't believe I am - I'm simply stating a fact that our brains are not usually focused on aboreal variety unless there is a distinct goal to be had. My was academia - his appears to be looking for a fault - a minute one - to blow out of proportion. Of the top of my head, only Minecraft stands out for having different phenotypes of trees. What other game have you ever played where you were seriously taken back by the lack of tree representation.
Serious question.

This is everything I wanna say. What do people expect when it comes to a large game. It's going to have bugs and if you don't like it don't play it it's that simple.
Meh im not impressed overall. Some of the bugs... The number of times i had to replay a dungeon or redo a quest because of a broken trigger / event, npc's falling under the world, doors not opening, puzzles not working. It's... Sad.KalDurenikDoesn't sound that bad to me. Replaying dungeos over again can be frusterating I suppose but sounds fun killing the same guys. Over and over and over and over... Subjective I suppose, Skyrim isn't for everyone and there are problems it has but overall what you see is what you get and based on what I've seen it has a LOT for me. :)

I played alot of open world games without bugs. RDR, Infamous, Assassin's Creed, Just cause 2 etc etc. Maybe there are some here and there but not in any way close to what I'm hearing about Skyrim. [QUOTE="SaltyMeatballs"]15 years later their games are even more complex, so??foxhound_foxThe funny thing is, the ES games have just been getting simpler as time goes on. Sure, they improve the graphics, but the basic formula remained the same and is only getting incredibly shallow. In Daggerfall, you can only join specific factions, and your actions with them sully your reputation with others. In Oblivion, you can join all four with the same character and nothing you do with one (i.e. murdering in the Dark Brotherhood) ruins anything in another (i.e. the tenet of the Thieves Guild against killing). And there are nearly twice as many skills in Daggerfall as there are in Oblivion/Skyrim. I think WRPG developers need to look to Dungeons & Dragons 4E and learn what "streamlining" a role-playing game is actually about. it's less about streamlining and more about 'simple things for consolite minds'

[QUOTE="Ross_the_Boss6"][QUOTE="GearsOfWarLover"] False, did oblivion suck on ps3?? nope, did fallout 3 suck on the ps3, nope, it wasnt as smooth as 360 version, but no where near to suckingChikaraShref
I thought Fallout 3 was pretty bad for the PS3 on release? And Oblivion wasn't realeased on nearly the same date for PS3/360 so they had time to figure the bugs out.
Still, I generally agree with you over the other guy. It's not the customer's fault if the game is buggy and they have every right to complain. Bethesda needs to know this is a problem. Every version of the game should be great, not just one.
if they dont know how to program for a certain platform, they need to just not release games for it. maybe this would make the other ones better as thered be more time for the testing/bugfixes...doubt it tho. i mean that really the only alternative. ps3 gamers b**** now but would it be any happuer if they didnt have skyrim at all?Bugs are prevalent in all open-world RPGs - they're pretty much unavoidable. Even so, Bethesda should be held to a higher standard than other open-world developers, since they have more money for playtesting, and they're making simpler and less ambitious games than other open-world devs.
For Skyrim to repeat most of Oblivion's bugs, and to be even more unstable after three patches than it was originally...that's very poor on their behalf, and betrays an immense amount of incompetence on behalf of their coders/testers.
Indeed, if Bethesda got hung up on testing every concievable possiblity they'd never release one of their games.
Snugenz
That's a fair point, but here it looks like they didn't do more than the bare minimum of testing, given the sheer volume of immediately-obvious issues the game has.
Possibly because they were aiming for the highly marketable 11/11/11 release date, and weren't going to let little things like'not quite finishing the game' get in the way of that.
Why can't Bethesda spending more time play testing? It looks like as though Bethesda don't even care about the bugs which plague their games.
I prefer that Betheshda use time to add content and refine the mechanics, but that's just me.Why can't Bethesda spending more time play testing? It looks like as though Bethesda don't even care about the bugs which plague their games.

sony made the ps3 the way it is. its their fault. no one wants to spend time unlocking the true power of the cell and optimising for it. microsoft stayed cool and didnt need to lie their pants off with 120 fps 4d hardware. infact i even dare to claim skyrim as a PC/XBOX multiplat as ps3 is virtually unplayable. NotAFanboy7
typical fanboy respond, it's like being a heart Surgery, the heart is complicated so i'm going to do a half the work and believeme the heart is complicated more then the PS3 ever be. PS3 is the heart and Bethesda is the heart surgent and well they f****k upnot only on ps3 but PC and x360 as well. any way they are getting paid for it so its their job to find out how the PS3 works and pc, x360 have problems too there is a reason they all recived a patch. nobody makes my job easy
By creating such a large world, Bethesda must have made it impossible for play testers to even scratch the surface of the play possibilities. Players who are determined to push the envelope - crawling, jumping, and swimming into every crevice of the landscape - are sure to find themselves stuck between two polygons with no way to continue except for suicide. Along these same lines is the game's tendency to crash occasionally for what seems to be no reason at all. Patches are bound to be forthcoming, but for now my recommendation is to save early and save often.
Or just type tcl in the console
All of Bethesda games have been buggy and while I don't care about the minor ones, they should fix the major ones that people are having. That being said the issues seem to vary from person to person, I have over 60 hours in and still no major problems so far, just a few minor ones.
I'm sure that Bethesda will fix it soon for the people who are having issues, and don't go around bashing the PS3 version either as the 360 version has it's own share of bugs too. People just won't admit it.
the Ps3 version is a port of the 360 version, any bugs in the 360 version will be present in the Ps3 version, so far though, the 360 has not had any major gamebreaking bugs like the Ps3 savegame bug, but this can be explained and is in fact down to the split RAM on the Ps3 as bethesda claims, look at it this way the save game on the Ps3 loads either into the GPU or CPU memory, which are capped at 256MB, lets just say for arguments sake that it loads into the CPU memory and that memory is already using 240MB to run the game that would only leave 16MB for the savegame to load into, the GPU memory may have more spare memory, say for example 10-20MB but because of the nature of the RAM that cannot be used to load the savegame into, on the 360 it doesn't matter because all the memory is shared, so the 360 has the full 26-36MB of space that the savegame can be loaded into, in theory, all bethesda need to do is streamlined the savegames and make them smaller. All of Bethesda games have been buggy and while I don't care about the minor ones, they should fix the major ones that people are having. That being said the issues seem to vary from person to person, I have over 60 hours in and still no major problems so far, just a few minor ones.
