I love Mass Effect, but if going by sheer number of games I enjoy, I would have to pick Bethesda. Their games are buggier, but I just have more fun with most of them.

I found Morrowind, Oblivion and Fall Out 3 boring as hell while Baldurs Gate 2 and Star Wars: KotOR are easily on my top 10 list of best games ever made so I voted Bioware.

I love both developers, but I just realised I have never finished a title made by either of them. I've played so many hours of Morrowind, Oblivion & Fallout 3, but came close to finishing Morrowind & Fallout 3, but have never actually completed one. Same goes for Bioware games, but I want to, & will finish Mass Effect & more then likely Dragon Age Origins, which I have in my console at the moment but have kind of lost interest in for now. I never finished KotoR, but I enjoyed what I did play, didn't like the combat in Jade Empire but my brother finished it & has said it was great, so I might check it out.

I just plain couldn't get into Baldurs Gate 2 when I tried it. It might be a lot like Dragon Age, which I find kind of slow anyway, but coupled with the graphics, movement & my lack of interest in the character everyone claims are great, I barely got past the annoying dungeon area.

I love both equally. Oblivion (for its freedom) and Mass Effect (for its universe and story) are my favourite games this gen.

How can't you love characters like Minsc and his hamster Boo which he believes is a "miniature giant space hamster"?

Fallout 3 was just amazing, one of the best games I've ever played, easily, based on that one game alone I have to go with Bethesda, Bioware makes a lot of brilliant games, but I just cant live without my Fallout 3, I'll take that one game over any Bioware game ( Mass Effect 2 might change that but I'll wait and see, ...side note: currently playing Dragon Age, still prefer exploring Fallout 3)

Bioware just brought me back to their games. If it weren't for Dragon Age Origins.Just waiting to save up for it,Bethesda never appealed to me with the elder scrolls series. Past Neverwinter Nights Bioware lost their touch,Baulders Gates was the best of their games.Currently though Bethesda I would say is winning due to the fame of Fallout 3 and it's multiple addons that continue to come out. Although Fallout 3 had annoying GFWL...

I cant pick one over the other... They strive to do different things, and usually suceeds. I like Bethestas open worlds alot, they are usually quite fun.

Bioware games are more of a story thing, the story of said world, people, and the main threat.

So I wont really pick between, when it is my mood each day that ends up deciding ^^

Bethesda games are generally mechanically better, but lack the personality and polish of Bioware Titles.

Oblivion and FO3 were both great examples of technically impressive sandboxes, but as RPG's the mechanics in play in Bioware games puts them way ahead in my books.

So I choose Bioware.

Bethesda is 0-4 when it comes to satisfying me when it comes to a game. I hate the entire elder scrolls series. I have Fallout 3, never started it. So i can't condemn them for that just yet, but hey maybe the day i finally play Fallout 3, i might like a Bethesda game :P Bioware is consistantly giving me quality games, I think they are alot like other mainstream RPG devs though, a bit inconsistant with their outings and a bit over praised.

None of Beth's games have had a lasting effect on me, and while BioWare's games haven't done much to me either, I've had far greater experiences with their games.

If I had to save one of them from a burning building, it would be Bioware

I like Bethesda's ambition. If they could just flesh out the flaws in their formula they could have possibly the most perfect WRPG. Bioware on the other hand has better talented writers and their games are more polished. They are the only company to successfully implement multiple new IPs in one short generation.

Bioware. Bethesdas games are a borefest, take Elder scrolls for example, huge world to explore, but never kept my interested for more than 10 minutes.

Bioware easily. They've got the story telling and characters nailed down perhaps better than any other wRPG dev. Kotor and DAO are both 10/10 for me. Beth does open worlds okay, but tends to screw up other areas, though Fallout 3 was surprisingly complete in that sense.

Bethesda created one of the best RPG's...Morrowind, i have NEVER been so immersed into a game. My second fav is Black isle, fallout 1,2 nuff said. Only mildly enjoyed one game from bio it was NWN. ME,DA,KOTOR are total fail, they were dumbed down for the consoles. Consoles ruined WRPG...well, waiting for the decadance rpg coming 2010. Now JRPG are better than WRPG, look at VK and DS(best rpg hands down this gen).

Hard decision, I love Elder Scrolls, and the games are simply more fun to play than anything Bioware has ever created, so on a fun scale? Bethesda hands down. In terms of quality over actual fun gameplay? Bioware.

Bethesda are horrible at facial animation, something which to me is pretty important in RPGs, not to mention that in Oblivion most of the NPCs are ugly as sin.

Personally both developers are great with what they do, but if I did have to pick one for making the games that I like more than I have to go with Bioware. Bioware had made some of my favorite games ever from Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age: Origins so it is the obivous choice for me in this situation.

Bio-Ware by far imo. Betheseda has them beat on making open world games... only because Bio-Ware doesn't make open world games. Bio-Ware trumps them at every other aspect of WRPGs though. I've only played two Betheseda games: Fallout 3 and Oblivion. I thought one was really good and one was really bad. I've played 4 Bio-Ware games (KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect and Dragon Age). 3 were really good and one was just OK.

Bioware easily.

Bethesda have made one good game, Fallout 3, and it was only good because it wasn't their own IP.

Bioware by far, although Morrowind and its respective expansions were truly revolutionary and mind-boggling games back in the day for me, Bioware has just pumped out far too amazing games in multiple universes for it to be even a competition.
