Better Platformer:LBP or SMG?(poll)

This is just a poll designed to make nintendo fans who are starved of games right now feel better about themselves.

smg is obviously the better platfromer by far, but lbp is the better game as a whole by far.

I played about 30 minutes of both and afterwards I wanted to play more SMG. I actually own LBP and haven't picked it up again since that first 30. I like the graphics more (which is duh) but I hate the jump. It feels off to me. The toolset seems sweet though. I wish they'd make a mario with a level editor.

LBP's fun, it's not a terrible game. But SMG is definitely the better platformer.

Platformer wise? SMG murders LBP and is not even a contest.

Yeah. I hate, hate, hate the way sackboy controls.

I love love love LittleBigPlanet. But at the end of the day Galaxy is king.

I love both games, but Galaxy is the king of the genre.

As a platformer, Super Mario Galaxy anytime and gameplay wise as well.

Can someone explain to me why LBP is such a terrible platformer. I enjoyed it much more than SMG and I like the floaty controls much more.

It's not a terrible platformer, but the floaty controls make it more difficult. Some people prefer precise jumping controls, but whatever. LBP stands out because the community has made levels that trump a lot of the better retail games this gen in terms of creativity and entertainment I really need to play more LBP 2.

I had way more fun with LBP and the multiplayer was great.

SMG wasnt bad but still felt like a chore sometimes and the camera angles were annoying. Didnt feels as fresh and different as people make it out to be.

Given that few Nintendo fans use it as club to attack LBP, apparently your opinion is in the minority (which doesn't make you wrong).

How do you feel about the fact that characters shared space (which translates into a lot of jostling) and that there is no online play? Did the fact it didn't do much with the classic Mario formula bother you or did you see that as a plus?

After watching a lot gameplay videos of LBP2, I'm not sure if I would call that a platformer anymore.nintendoboy16

The platforming in SMG is much better but I like LBP waaay more.

No.

LBP has rather weak platforming. But the comparison is pointless because LBP is about creativity, not top-tier platformer level design (which is near-impossible when you build a game around user-generated content).

You might as well compare Black Ops to Deus Ex: HR and say "Which is the better shooter?"

Better game overall? LBP by far (thanks to almost infinite replay value from other players). Better level design from the devs? SMG

There is no contest, SMG is by far better as a game

The only thing going for LBP is the creation idea, the core gameplay is rather mediocre imo

LBP2 is bipolar game. It has some of the greatest levels ever in campaign mode for anyone who played it. Easily 2nd best game this year behind portal 2.

DKCR is a better platfromer (not game) than LBP. And SMG2 is better than all 3

so let's compare it to the weaker NSMB series to make it look better ;)

(and even then those game still school LBP in platforming mechanics)
