[QUOTE="Inconsistancy"]It's not like it's somehow more fun, or deep, to control a qte or short, nearly mentally devoid, segments that you just select for a response.CajunShooterWho are you to say what others can find fun or not? Like I said people have different taste. One person might not like fast gameplay etc but prefer the slower pacing of an adventure game with QTEs being the "action" sequences. My friend's girlfriend would never be able to play a fast pace action game because she just isn't very good at using 360/PS3 controllers. She was able to play through Heavy Rain though and enjoy it because it was a slower paced game and had manageable QTEs that didn't immediately fail you for missing a couple.
Stop with your entitlement that all gamers prefer their gameplay to be the same kind you do.
It's not gameplay, and that's the whole issue. There are gameplay types that don't require you to be good at twitchy mechanics, such as turn based games in general.
You can enjoy it all you want, but don't call it a game.
And why bother snipping my post, it's so short, that line was in reference to the first. In the event that it had gameplay, there is no excuse for those mechanics.
Also, your friend seems to be taking advantage of the mentally handicapped, it's fine to not like games, but utterly incapable of playing any of them? If you can't play FF, you are pretty handicapped, you may not like it, but you better be able to play it.
Damn, PS3 reaching CGI quality visuals already

Sony rely on one player interactive movies to pretend PS3 is more powerful than 360. Personally, i like how MS allways give priority to fun factor, open unscripted events, split screen and online coop, etc over anything else. Funny, how, despite all of that, 360 games still manage to reach PS3´s exclusives graphical level.
Knew Quantics next game would generate copious amounts of butthurt and jelly. Games are becoming more and more cinematic and movie like. If you can't accept that, stop playing games.ispeakfactThat's to an extreme of cinematic/movie-like to the extent of not really being a game anymore(at all).
Only Sony fans would pay $60 for a game without gameplay :lol:Miketheman83Only lems would buy a console with no games.

Again, games are changing and becoming pseudo movies. You can't stop it. It's been drifting in that direction for the last two gens actually. Really since games started being played with roms. Those who call Heavy Rain just a qte, didn't play it. Simple as that because if you did, there was much much more to it than qte events. Many call MGS4 a movie. I watched the Watch Dogs demo. There were parts that very much reminded me of Heavy Rain. This is the direction the industry is headed. Good luck in trying to stop it.

Games like Halo, Gears, Forza are all about gameplay. Thats the difference between Sony games and Microsoft games.

??..You haven't meet Killzone, Uncharted, God of War 3, inFamous, Resistance, Demon's Souls and even MGS4. The only games that fit your descreption of "PS3 exclusives" are Heavy Rain and now Beyond. So yeah...
"open unscripted events"... right.. Xbox 360 exclusives are sooooo open ended, they just let you do everything you want, how you want it and when you want it... Just like Halo and Gears right? Sooooooooooooooooooooooo unscripted lol
Heavy Rain, Beyond, Uncharted series and God of War series, Killzone series (the biggest flagships of PS3) are indeed very linear. Their best looking parts are usually on rail quick time events. Never said they were bad games, they are fantastic at what they are doing.
Now, Gears 3 and Halo 4 look equaly good, despite their options to play in coop with 4 players. In the case of Halo, the environments are indeed open and the battles unscripted.
Worries me how surprised people are by how the game looks. Did you guys even play Heavy Rain?
I can't wait to pick up this game
Only cows would buy a system for $599 with no games. Lets not forget that. True that. We really only had Ratchet, Resistance and Uncharted (not too bad, but not so great either) in the first year or so...Glad so much has changed as the years went by hehe :P[QUOTE="heretrix"]

Still, if you as the same thing to the resident cows (ispeakfact for example) they shall tell you it came with Jelly or some sh*t lol I just hope neither Sony or any other company makes the "599$" mistake again though....
Yeah, I'm just amazed at how bad some peoples memories are.??..[QUOTE="Desmonic"]

Delusional lembro, gears is linear and scipted as well(even halo is a straight path),and you've said multiple times you don't have a ps3 so how do you know? play the games then talk.
I shouldn't have watched that. It reminds me just how incredibly dull QTEs are.
My hype dropped just like that.
FrozenLiquid
your hype was never up to begin with, you were ripping david in the other thread about this game. you just love to post...
Nice cut scene.001011000101101

"However, at first glance, the action looked just like anything you would see in Heavy Rain. The button prompts appear in the same fashion and are just as reaction based as before. There?s one big difference though ? we were told that the entire scene was interactive. That?s right, you can actually move the player around and make the escape for yourself. The characters in Beyond are not controlled by a cutscene, but the animations are so seemless you can?t even tell unless you were actually playing it for yourself."

"Cage explained that there are multiple paths to follow in each scenario and that the game is not linear: "This is a sandbox," he said, just before he used Aiden to possess a sniper and shoot down three SWAT officers as they stood in position around Jodie, who was injured and crouched behind a car." Another article from Joystiq
I do not like the concept of this game. Wish they went down the path of Kara:( Maybe that will be their next project. I loved Heavy Rain. This looks too much like Heavy Rain (with all the QTEs). The story is what kills it though, it's like watching a trailer for a movie I probably won't like. Also even though I loved Heavy Rain, I don't exactly want YET ANOTHER game loaded with QTE's. Apparantly that's all this guy does. 2Chalupas
This, not much more to say on the matter.
I would have been all over this if they had stuck to that original concept. I mean why even show that demo to end up going with something like this, pff...not what I was hyped for.

Now that's really f*cking interesting. Need to see it before hype soars astronomically again. The new mechanics sound interesting.
I fall into the camp that enjoyed the Heavy Rain "experience" but people's criticisms of it aren't unjustified.
This sounds like it keeps most of the relative niche novelty, while addressing the "that's not a game" critique. Keen to see more of how the possession works.
Story will still probably be a clusterf*ck though.
