720p hasn't been confirmed any where. It may not hit 1080p, but I doubt it goes as low as 720p either.

It was a lot of fun playing on the 128 player servers running during the BF3 beta. Too bad EA shut them down.

Not going to lie this is pretty sad - 60 FPS = good, 720 P = bad.  this is 2013 almost 2014, these consoles have a 5-7 year shelf life - so these guys could potentially still be playing games at 720P in 2020?  To me this isn't acceptable and the console gamers should expect more.

That is worse case scenario. I think it will be closer to 1080p than 720p.

You know, you're actually negating one of the usual perks consolites brag about which is the ability to play on a massive HDTV (yeah I know you can do that on a PC but for most people it's not really convenient). If you're sitting so far away from a 55'' TV, a 24'' PC monitor at your desk feels bigger.

Peronally, I would rather a game sacrafice some gfx to get 60fps then not. I think it makes a real difference, for me it just makes the game more fun to play.

Best part about this is it means the maps will actually be designed around 64 players. No more half-assed maps that have to work for 24 and 64 people.

Most 720p games scaled to 1080p look just fine, I've seen some 720p games that looked better then some 1080p games. With that said, I'm glad they went with 720p@60fps instead of 1080p@30fps.Eminence_Front

But yes, I benefit from 1080p and would probably benefit from 1440p.
