Big 3DS Day: What all did you pick up today?

I got the MM LE 3DS game, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, New 3DS XL screen protectors, and I'm waiting for Bestbuy to ship my damn MM 3DS XL. They need to hurry the **** up. I want that thing badly.

I have no idea, I'm playing on an original 3DS XL. Most likely it detects whether or not you're playing on a New 3DS and doesn't ask anything, but I'm not sure. Is it really that important?

Majora's Mask does not require a C stick.

Oh sorry, thought you had the new 3DS. Guess I got you confused with someone else. I'm sure I'll figure it out when it gets here, was just curios about the control setups. I've never really played much of the Monster Hunter series before, but I read something about locking on to enemies as a substitute for camera control, and didn't like the sound of that.

Man, I had forgotten how subtextual and nuanced Majora's Mask is. Jesus, it's amazing.

The camera controls are actually pretty similar to the 3DS Zelda remakes. L centers the camera behind your character. You can press an icon on the touch screen to focus on the monster you're hunting, which will make pressing L focus the camera on the monster. If you have a c-stick or circle pad pro you can also control the camera freely that way, and you can control it using the d-pad and the touch screen.

I wouldn't worry about camera controls on the New 3DS at all, it should be great. I didn't have any issues with the demo on my original XL and the very first tutorial in the full game does a good job of teaching you how to manage the camera.

dude, the Shulk Amiibo is incredibly detailed. I think it's the best one they've done.

I purchased the new 3DSXL, Majora's Mask Edition today and was lucky to be number 2 in line.

Just Monster hunter 4 collectors. And MM collectors. Couldn't find a MM 3DS xl. Sad face, think I might hold out abit and wait for the inevitable FE 3ds xl. Or cave later on and get a black one.

Already had a New 3DS, but I bought both games today...so all three?

Picked up Majora's Mask 3D edition.

I got majoras mask. No new system since I find no point in spending money for a marginal upgrade from my og 3ds, especially when their may not be many exclusives for it.

I played the mh4u demo and found that the camera was awful. I might not be used to playing mh on a handheld but I don't remember mh3u being that cumbersome.

That will never happen. As a matter of fact, like Orcania of Time the price will probably just go up because DS games usually only get a limited amount of copies. OoT already sales for about 50-60$ used.

I meant a price drop as in someone else selling it for cheap, but otherwise you're right.

I managed to sell my OoT 3D for $30 nearly four years ago and don't regret as I didn't enjoy it.

It gets waaaaaaay to much praise for nostalgia purposes. MM, WW and Twlp are leagues better than Oot.

Anyways lovin the remaster of MM, holy shyt it looks pretty good for a remastered game 15 years ago on the 3DS hardware.

Obtained Monster Hunter 4. Might pick up the N3DS later, but not sure if I will ever pick up MM3D.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is so good. Capcom nailed it this time, this really might be the best realization of the game yet. Anyone else got this? Want to play online some time?

I actually got a WiiU 8GB haha.. wanted it more than the new 3DSXL even though I like the build quality of it, don't like the red or black color options. I'll get one later in the year possibly, I'm not too concerned with portable game consoles for now.

It was sold out at pretty much all the gamestops in my local town (well I was looking for some amibos I might buy but asked store rep out of curiousity) and they say they all sold out on pre-order. Funnily enough at Best Buy they had a table in the front of the store, there were two little tickets left for New 3DSXL , both red models.

I ended up getting : WiiU White 8GB, Smash Bros 4, Resident Evil Revelations WiiU, Resident evil 4, LoZ Twilight Princess, LoZ Skyward Sword, The Last Story. Console bundled with Nintendoland and Skylanders.

The Amibos I got: Pikachu, Samus, Toon Link (only saw 2 of him in like 7 different major electronics stores in my town!!) , and normal Link, so 4 in total. I'm actually impressed at how good they look when you take them out of the box, there's a lot of detail on them if you look closely. I'll probably get a few more, just have to keep track of what's coming out. Don't nessesarily want to get them all xD just favorite characters I suppose.

I was in the city and went to all five places that sell games and in the last place I bought their last n3ds, wanted black it was red oh well. Used the fact I drove my gf two hours for dinner at franks schnitzel and steak haus and was about to endure two hours of fifty shades of grey and drive again to my advantage so she didn't complain about buying one and Goin all over to find one. I just downloaded Monster hunter 4 and zelda is downloading now. Tried the c stick with metal gear solid 3, it's not as good as I hoped its not very responsive so you push harder and it's over responsive will take a little bit to get used to. 3.5/5 overall first impression

I haz the New MH4U 3DS and the CE of MM on its way from the UK.

Loving all the weapontypes. Gonna pick between Light Bowgun, Bow, Kinsect glaive, Charge blade, Switch Axe, Hammer, and Hunter horn based on what is most useful/what is the most neglected weapon online.
Also the MH4U 3DS looks awesome. At first I didn't like the text but since the game is so good I think it's fine if other people see that I'm a fan. Nintendo is rocking this year.

I got the Majora's Mask New 3DS XL, with the game pre-installed on it, and a statue of the Skull Kid (well technically I got them the Wednesday before release because they got shipped early in the UK). I wanna get Monster Hunter at some point too, but I've got so many games to get through right now that I couldn't justify buying both,

Oh yes definitely. I have fond memories of Minish Cap, hoping its similarly good.

I don't think FireEmblem would be my sort of game.

Not sure what sort of handheld games would interest me, I spent most of my time on GBA and DS playing Pokemon.

Well, I do suggest Fire Emblem; that said, if you don't want to splurge 40 quid on it blindly. there is a demo on the eShop, maybe you could download that and see if it's something that's up your alley?

Apart from that, yeah, I would like to reinforce my suggestions of A Link Between Worlds and Super Smash Bros.; maybe Mario Kart 7 (it's not even close to being as good as MK8, but it's still pretty decent). You might want to look into Shin Megami Tensei IV (although I don't know if JRPGs are your thing), it's a pretty hard as nails RPG with a unique setting. Kid Icarus Uprising, definitely, it's a fun, fast paced third person shooter, and there's nothing else like it on the market.

Totally forgot about the demos, yeah will definitely check it out.

Mario Kart 7 is a good shout, also on the fence about MGS3. Mario and Luigi Dream team has me intrigued, and maybe OoT and MM as my first Zelda was Windwaker so haven't had a chance to play them.

Picked up Majora's Mask, mostly because Dell offered me $25 gift card to do so - making the game effectively $15.

Still waiting for BBY to never ship out my MM New 3DS XL. I refuse to start Majora's Mask unless it's on the MM system.

Couldn't care less for either.

I might pick n3DS up when Xenoblade releases.
