I think we're all pretty sure it's Halo Wars

For one there is already a topic like this. And this one all you say is Topic. Way to contribute. Just close this one. Its worthless. And the biggest flop is Mad World. Hyped AAA and got a 7.5. A lot of people expected Halo Wars to be bad. So did I.

i'd say halo wars, pretty much because it was on the brink of KZ2's release and it really, reallllyyy made the cows in this place go ape s***

Man a ps3 flop is due soon, I just hope it aint one of the bigs like uncharted, infamous, heavy rain, and god of war 3. I don't even care if its MAG that game can flop all it want lol.

RE5 wouldn't be that big of flop, although a flop nonetheless, since its only .5 below what I expected. I'm still disappointed though...

The question is biggest flop of the year, so wouldn't the lower score win? If we were discussing the "better flop", then of course its Mad World.

I begrudgingly voted Halo Wars.

Still, it's hard to consider something a flop when everybody knew it would be mediocre by virtue of it being an RTS exclusive to a console.

Halo Wars. Its a just ok game rapped in a popular shell.

Based off this list, I'd have to go with either RE5 or Mad World. RE5 was among the top 3 most anticipated/hyped games of the first quarter (along with Street Fighter 4 and Killzone 2.) It's averaging around a 85% on Gamerankings. Madworld had AA-AAA hype and got a 7.5 on Gamepsot (but is chilling at around 84% on Gamerankings). So of the two, I'd go with RE5 since it had more GOTY hype (not to say it won't get a nom).

Halo Wars > RE5 > Empire: Total War > MadWorld > Fear 2

Luckily... I own (will own RE5 soon) every one of these games except Fear 2. I love Empire and MadWorld, and Halo Wars is a great game also. Not sure about RE5 yet.

Im too Lazy to dig all those Halo Wars vs Starcraft II threads...

Certain games become highly anticipated and followed by System Wars, typically high-profile games believed to be "system sellers" (exclusive games of a high caliber that lead to new users buying into a platform). When these games become hyped, a score prediction is made, however sometimes a game fails to receive the review score that was predicted by the posters hyping the title. When a game's actual review score is lower than its predicted review score, it is said to have "flopped".

There is currently some disagreement on a game being considered a "true flop", and growing debate over what review scores "count" for that flop. The official policies of System Wars currently dictate that only GameSpot scores count, however other sites are often used to attempt to predict GameSpot's review scores.

I think the game with a text rating of 'fair' is the flop of the year so far by a mile. Halo Wars was hyped to 'revolutionize RTS games as we know it!' and be AAA amazing.

Excellent point, LionHeart08. You can find many people that were excited about RE5 and MadWorld and guessed they would score what they did. No one expected Halo Wars to get a 6.5. Definitly flop of the year so far

Sorry I didn't make it clear but none of them are flops IN MY OPINION.

I expected Halo Wars to be a fun...albeit shallow game. Expectation met.

I expected Resident Evil 5 to be an awesome game. Expectation met.

I expected MadWorld to be a crazy in-your-face action game. Expectation met.

I expected F.E.A.R 2 to be a big fat "meh". Expectation met.

I expected Empire Total War to be pure epicness. Expecation...surpassed.

If the TC wasn't looking for our opinions, why would he ask? He can make calculations for himself using Gamespot scores and System War's hype.

Honestly, Killzone 2 let me down a great deal. Flop? I don't really know, but it sure was a kick in the balls for me, as I was greatly anticipating it. It's not a terrible game by any means, but the deadzone and button lag are excruatiatingly painful to work with in multiplayer. The campaign was pretty good, though nothing too special, but the mutli just doesn't work for me, and thats where the mainstay, as always, is.

This is a perfect example of why you can't trust SW polls. It's well known that this place has about 70% or more PS3 fans here now so naturally they are gonna pick Halo Wars even though it was no where near as hyped as RE5. RE 5 was the most hyped game other than Killzone 2.

Halo Wars isn't a flop. The 6.5 score was pretty expected.
