Halo Wars scored the lowest but had less hype than the others.

It's a tie between MadWorld and Resident Evil 5 when it comes to more people hyping it, I think RE5 because it had it's own sticky longer than MadWorld did(yes, Madworld had a sticky thread before).

the only flop in there is obviously halo wars, the rest got respectable scores, god you people are not smart are you, you call an 7.5 game or much less a 8.5 game a flop , well you got bad taste then , halo wars = the flop because it scored less then a 7, and people hyped that to be xbox360s next big game

That's funny. RE5 drops by .5 a point and is considered more of a flop then Mad World which drops 1.5... -_-. While Halo Wars is considered even more when it is equal or even less of a flop to Mad World... Haha...rolo107

And to the people who say Halo Wars: That game didn't have as much hype as the other games, plus most people were skeptical when they found out that it's a RTS on a console. Sure, it scored lower, but most people didn't care for it. But that's just me.

I'm not putting words in your mouth, I'm referring to the polls at the moment with my first statement. Another thing you have to understand is the average score for this game is a 82 although Madworld may fare a tad bit better in average score there's been more hype delivered around this game than Halo Wars from what I've seen. IMO Fear 2 is the biggest flop especially when you've played that game on PC.

Madworld for me. This was the sheeps bread and butter if you ask me. They were banking on this game to be AAA because they've had....*crickets* since...who knows how long now. I think after madworld all the sheep lowered the standards for conduit, haha.

Old thread and anyone saying anything other than RE5 does NOT understand how hype and noodly floppage works. That **** was hyped to catastrophic levels, people were expecting RE5 to be GOTY and bam, smell the cheese you mother. Catastrophic flop, heck Halo Wars was barely AA hype allround, but RE5, now that's a floppage to live long in the memory.

I went RE5, I knew Halo wars wasn't going to be great and wasn't going to get that good of a score. That being said you could probably go with either of those and be right. Madworld I liked, it's overly violent fun. I also didn't expect it to score too well here, I did though expect it to be higher then what it scored here.

I would say ETW as it had high scoring games from its previous installments.

Halo Wars easily. No one was openly on these forums expecting it to get a 6.5. It was around that time I stopped lurking and actually made an account here because the ownage was so hilarious.

I wouldn't necessarily say RE5 was a flop. 8.5 is still a great score, and it is still a great game. I would probably go with Halo Wars, I was at a buddies playing it, and it was just a huge dissapointment.

Mad World hype = AAA score = 7.5

It's a tie, but because a better score MW wins.

The question is biggest flop of the year, so wouldn't the lower score win? If we were discussing the "better flop", then of course its Mad World.

They flopped roughly by the same amount. AA - 6.5 = 1.5/2.0. AAA - 7.5 = 1.5/2.0.

Empire definitely isn't the biggest flop. Only flopped by about 0.5/1.0.

Having 27 different meanings for each word is okay in the real world, but in System Wars, it leads to thread derailment.

Why do we call games that get slightly below expectation a flop? why cant you just say they got slightly less then expected, that would save alot of confusion compared to using a existing word for a new meaning.
