It's no shock that Take 2 claim this week's All Formats No1 as the critically acclaimed 'Bioshock' becomes the 2nd fastest selling Xbox 360 game (behind Gears of War). Released on both Xbox 360 and PC, 'Bioshock' in particular gives Microsoft's next-gen console a noticeable boost with 88% of sales on Xbox 360 :)and 12% on PC :(, and accounts for 58% of all Xbox 360 Full Price units sales this week.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184856&page=2

so the 360 version accounts for 88% of all Bioshock sales, and people say it's not 360 exclusive , may as well be with those numbers. Either PC gamers don't have the rig to run it, or are pirating the game, either way this is proof that consoles are the future, PC gaming is on the way out.

Bioshock was pretty big on STEAM and D2D, and I doubt those numbers are being taken into consideration. It's selling much more than 12% on PC.

the afforable rigs require knowledge to assemble. something most ppl don't have.

In that case, those people should RTFM. The manual that comes with your motherboard and your other components give you more than enough information to properly assemble and configure your computer.

are you slow? Not all cows have a gamming rig. Alot of cows do here thought because this is GAMESPOT there is more than ps3 and 360 games. I myself do have a PC rig to play this and i am almost done with it.

Either PC gamers don't have the rig to run it, or are pirating the game, either way this is proof that consoles are the future, PC gaming is on the way out.

cobrax25

Where did he say that Europe is a country? I don't recall him specifically stating "The country of Europe doesn't interest me" anywhere. "I live in America, not Europe" and "There's no ownage to something that happens in another country" are both independant clauses. Trust me, I got an A in AP English and Composition. I know what I'm talking about.

so the 360 version accounts for 88% of all Bioshock sales, and people say it's not 360 exclusive , may as well be with those numbers. Either PC gamers don't have the rig to run it, or are pirating the game, either way this is proof that consoles are the future, PC gaming is on the way out.

d3thm0nkey

That doesn't include Steam numbers, by any chance?

it doesnt even include euro numbers...where the PC version outsold the 360 version.

Link?

Where did he say that Europe is a country? I don't recall him specifically stating "The country of Europe doesn't interest me" anywhere. "I live in America, not Europe" and "There's no ownage to something that happens in another country" are both independant clauses. Trust me, I got an A in AP English and Composition. I know what I'm talking about.

Isn't "so" a conjunction thus joining both clauses?

they dont list the countries individually because Europe in composed of many smaller countries, which standalone (with the exception of Germany) isnt a major deal.

the UK is the biggest market in Europe....but certainly not even close to all of them combined.

so? the rest of Europe is far larger then the UK.....

clearly the PC version is quite popular if in Europe (the biggest PC market in the World) Bioshock PC outsells, Bioshock 360.

"So" is a clause, but the sentence requires you to read between the lines, so to speak. I'll give you a similar example to what he said. Pretend we're having a discussion on the sales of pancakes vs. waffles. Someone says that waffles outsold pancakes at Waffle House. I say "So? I go to IHOP, not waffle house, so why should I care what happens at other restuarants"? Just like Europe contains many countries, the category "restuarants" includes IHOP.

"While the Xbox 360 version is the more popular of the two in the U.S., BioShock on PC nevertheless manages to make a strong overall sales impression that few PC titles manage to achieve. Interestingly, though, the PC port outsells both the regular and limited Xbox 360 editions in Europe, where BioShock's PC version emerges as the week's biggest-selling software title on any platform."
