Gamespot's review said that there are times where the game will pause for like 5 seconds, then go back to normal. That is a huge stutter problem. I don't even want to get the game if this isa big issue. Also, Gamespot said that once it happened, it would happen fairly frequently, EVEN when a new game was started. Is Gamespot blowing this outta proportion, or is this a big issue?

I've beaten the game twice already, and played it for hours on end. I haven't seen anything of the sort as of yet.

No, I did not experience any stutters at all throughout the campaign mode. Maybe they need to clear their cache.

Nope. I've had absolutely zero framerate problems or anything of the sort. Sounds more like the GS 360 is going to bite the bullet than any problems with Bioshock.

Nope... and I've played it for hours on end before. The only problems that I noticed with Bioshock is that there are several glitches.

I did (although me no lemming), the game froze on me twice. I beat the game twice though, so it's not as big of a deal. But there is slow-down for like 3 seconds when loading a new objective or something.

My friend was playing it on his 360, I think it happened once or twice. But that was only in the first 3 hours or so, and he said it hadn't happened at all since.

People are running around whining so much about this and that, but I haven't run into anything but minor audio hiccups a few times on my PC version.

I don't know if it is just my 360 or the game, but every once in a while some wierd things happen to me while I am playing it. Like if I am facing a big daddy and a splicer at the same time the game will stutter or freeze for like 5 seconds. Also some of the wierdest things happen when im getting out of the vita chamber like the weapon I have equipped will go off without pressing the trigger or not being able to use the left stick. If I had the cable for my camera I would record it for you guys to see.

I have played it for a good 25 hours with some 4 and 5 hour sessions and I have not seen these hiccups Jeff G was talking about in his review. Gamespot should revise their review, its obviously their X360 has problems or its their review copy of the game.

I've played Bioshock for 6 hours straight, and a few other smaller marathons (probably 20-25 hours playtime), and never ONCE did it EVER hitch at all. Not even for one single frame. It was completely smooth the entire time. I'm still very PO'd at gamespot for taking down the rating for a supposed critical problem with the framerate, that obviously is near non-existant. Bioshock is one of the best games I've played in years, and I've played every blockbluster that's come out. I still say it deserved better than 9.0, the average is even a 9.7 from critics. The Zelda review was fine because they brought up legitimate points (I own and beat Twilight princess 100%), it was fair that they reviewed it harshly, but with bioshock the really messed up, and now I'm never taking a gamespot review seriously again.

The only time I've had it slow down was when I entered a bathysphere to change the level, besides that the game runs real smooth.

They will if their 360 dies in the near future or if its a problem with the disk instead of the actual game. Considering the split between people who have had no problems and people who have it sounds like more of a hardware issue than something thats wrong with the game, and therefore it shouldn't affect the review.

That is one thing I dislike about Gamespot. If a game has stutter issues or whatever, they just assume it is the game and not a hardware problem. Also, the fact that Gamespot knew it happened on some Xbox 360 machines, but not all should have been a huge indicator that it is NOT the game's fault. Does Gamespot just assume that their 360s are in perfect working order with no hardware problems at all? Pretty arrogant, if so.

I only purchased the game today, and played for a max of 3-4 hours, but i didn't notice any stuttering or pausing during the game. It runs SO much better on my 360 than my X2 3800+/2 GB/SLI 7800 GT system, atleast demo-wise.

I had it freeze during a load once. Never had the once a minute freeze though. I did once have a very common freezing issue. Once every 5 secs due to the guy (that you have to take a picture of) that runs away. I couldn't find him for a while and eventually it started to due the freezing. It stopped once I killed him though. I wouldn't be considered of getting it because it runs perfectly smooth, especially the framerate.

Well, maybe something IN the game causes some of the technical shortcomings. But it doesn't matter, those freezes and bugs don't represent the score in it's entirity, and I don't think that they will bump up the grade to a 9.5. Just seems too much.

Try Best Buy my friend. They usually have everything in stock (except Wii). Theres no hassle and no half baked opinions from employees who take Gamespot's rumor control as their bible.

They might, there really weren't any major complaints about the game, so it might have been on the bubble between 9 and 9.5. PersonallyI thought the review was a joke anyway. How can Jeff complain about the vita-chambers? Idoubt hetried to take down a big daddy on hard.

I haven't run into any problems whatsoever yet. However, my friend was talking about a glitch he ran into at level 4(ish), that wouldn't let him progress anymore or something. He had to go backtrack and do something to fix it.

You guys should speak your concerns and feeling to GameSpot. Maybe in "Ask GameSpot" forum or something. But you need to be a paying member for that i think.

Nahhhhh. If you have no sound its because you have onboard sound and you need to enable a couple options for the exe. If it stutters, your pc can't keep up. Basically.

this is nothing other than Jeff G's ignorance. he obviously didn't even think to try it on another system to see if the issues were related to his console (which is usually the case). so his review had a taint - being his obviously defective console (seeing the game runs without a hitch on my 360).

Only once, for a couple of seconds. And that was because I was shooting my Thompson SMG at 10+ different enemies on screen in a large, expansive tram station, who were shooting at me with various weapons...while on fire, and catching OTHER things on fire while they passed them. A frame-rate drop is to be expected in a situation like that

...low settings? Not sure how that's relevant. The 360 version looks a little better than my PC running high settings at 1280*1024 and the framerate is much better.
