@Epak_: good catch :)

@NathanDrakeSwag: I was being facetious dummy. Of course it went over your head you're one of the people that always talked about how much more powerful PS4 was and how superior its multiplats were all gen.
Nope. I don't care about power.
man, I want Microsoft to bounce the Xbox brand back up, but I can't help but think all of this talk is setting up for failure.
Keep hyping up those specs MS.
@kvally: Sony has exclusive games so they have more than specs to hype. No matter how much you try to ignore it, that's a fact.
@kvally: I honestly didn't care for the Pro. Minimal Difference between it and my current Normal PS4.
The issue I have with Scorpio is that there's just too much hyping up about "the power" that something just smells "fishy" about the whole thing.
Consoles live and die on their games, Not their Power. Microsoft should not only be hyping up this system's power, but also bring on games that will make someone like me who don't own an Xbox One, but own a Windows 10 computer to actually go out and buy the system.
You can hype up the System all you want, but if there is no game announced for it that you can ONLY get with that system, I don't see myself in the future purchasing a Scorpio.
@pinkanimal: That's odd. I swear I have a combination of over 160 games installed/ready to be installed on my X1. How many more do I need till the Xbox has games to play?
160 indie and 360 BC titles from games for gold no doubt.

Playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Scorpio going to look mighty nice!

On Xbox One I have 2 BC titles, 4 indies and the remaining 242 games on mine are all retail, aaa, exclusive or high budget. My PS Pro has a total of about 40 games, 15 of them indies and 25 of them aaa, exclusive, retail or high budget. You do the math.
@kvally: Suuuureeee keep living in denial. You're the worst troll I've ever seen, they're usually funny or they try to pretend to make sense but you're just lame.

But that's the thing, Microsoft does have games, does announce games and does release games. Nearly as many as PS. I know you are just following in the footsteps of the fellow Sony fans here, but when you look at reality, there isn't a concern when they are already giving us what we want.
@kinky-unikorn: Yeah, I'm going to assume it will probably look better and play better on Scorpio, but I have a PS4 to play that game.
The Scorpio is not like the Switch which sold me on it's portable factor. and the Xbox One currently isn't selling me a whole lot on it's game library unlike what the Xbox 360 did with Gears of War. I can currently buy everything I wanted for the Xbox One with my Windows 10 computer. The one game I wanted an Xbox One for I can just click on a short cut on my computer and play right now even. (that game was Killer Instinct fyi)
@kvally So you can play Bloodborne and Nioh on Xbox One?

No, but I can play them on a Windows 10 PC.

That's the type of half-ass comment I expect on system wars.
@MonsieurX: good thing they have the games AND the power.
Unlocked it all!
Awwwww yeahhhh
What games?
The same games the PS4 has of course.
According to you,none.
lol rekt
Holy crap. That's a sick burn.
@kvally: I'm not trolling. You pretending that the PS4 had no exclusives is lame trolling. Unless you really believe it, in which case you probably have a real mental problem.
I'm not trolling. You pretending that the Xbox had no exclusives is lame trolling.
Well this is just a cherry on top of an already delicious sundae. I'm still concerned about that being enough vram/ram for 4k textures. We needed gpus with 6gb or more for the original Titanfalls high res textures. And remember folks, that's just for the GPU, the game still needs system ram for functions not handled by the gpu. Could Titanfall run the high res textures with a Titan, a tablet CPU and 3GB of ram? No is the answer to that question...
I can't even imagine what these games are going to look like now.
Well most decent PC's now have at least 16 GB of RAM so maybe go to youtube or something?
LOL. Now Lems are using RAM as a buzzword. It always comes full circle doesn't it?
Isn't 8gb plenty enough for 4k and upscaled 4k? They should have unlocked a new CPU instead.
You have to keep in mind, this is an APU design with a shared RAM pool across the CPU and GPU. An 8GB video card has enough RAM for 4K, but this isn't 8GB (well, now 9) for the GPU, it's 8 (9) for all game processing needs across the CPU and GPU. I'm making this number up since I don't know how to translate my PC resource usage to a more lean-running console setup, but one might guess we're looking at a range of 3-6GB video RAM on a 9GB setup depending on how the push-pull between CPU and GPU needs is playing out at the moment. Anyone else have thoughts on that?
Each game is going to demand more or less in this regard, but at the high-end, we should only expect 6GB being used as a function of the GPU side of the APU. Is native 4K possible on 6GB? Sure, but not at any sort of PC Ultra/high equivalent. The high bandwidth should help a ton here, but I'm not expecting any sort of magic.
Also, the Scorpio will be doing VR. This will be where the system is brought to it's knees. There are VR games that ask for a 6GB GPU and 32GB of RAM. 16GB is a general minimum. This is why most PSVR games are very simple compared to the PC counterparts.
PS: In before ronvalencia ruins the thread with graphs and charts that have nothing to do with anything.
LOL. Now Lems are using RAM as a buzzword. It always comes full circle doesn't it?
Indeed it does. Remember when the Sony trolls were getting all moist and damp when they found out Sony had GDDR 5 RAM on the PS4 and the Xbox One didn't? If I recall correctly, they made it a RAM holiday that day. We are talking paid time off, and were handing out free copies of Knack and extra PSVR cords.

I'm not sure the difference in how Red Dead Redemption 2 will look like on the Playstation 4 and the Scorpio. I'm sure it'll be a big difference, but if you're content with the Playstation 4 and how games look on it now, then there is no need for you to get a Scorpio...lol. Pretty much everything that Microsoft releases for the Scorpio in terms of its own console exclusives like Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, etc will be on the PC
@kvally: But you can't play Bloodborne or Nioh on PC using PSNow right now, like you implied.
Unlike Xbox One "Exclusives" which I can go into the Windows 10 store and buy them all right now. You can't go and play PS4 games on your PC like you claim.
Even then it's not the same thing because with PSNow you're only RENTING games, while Windows 10 store games you are BUYING games.
@NathanDrakeSwag: I was being facetious dummy. Of course it went over your head you're one of the people that always talked about how much more powerful PS4 was and how superior its multiplats were all gen.
Nope. I don't care about power.
You're kidding right?
@kvally: Unlike Xbox One "Exclusives" which I can go into the Windows 10 store and buy them all right now.
No you can't. And you never will be able to. So you are wrong again. So as long as you post wrong stuff, I assume it's ok for me to post wrong stuff. I got all day.
@kinky-unikorn: Yeah, I'm going to assume it will probably look better and play better on Scorpio, but I have a PS4 to play that game.

Well, as we have noted, console gamers want the absolute best graphics and performance, so there is no doubt they will all be switching to Scorpio for all their multiplatform games and Xbox exclusives, and then retain their PS Pro for the few games you can't get on Xbox and Windows PC.
@kvally: Yeah, you're right. I can't buy Sunset Overdrive, Rare Replay or Halo 5.
But I can buy ReCore, Halo Wars 2, Quantum Break, Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, Killer Instinct, and Dead Rising 4. Those are games I'd totally would have bought an Xbox One for...If they were only available for the Xbox One, but Microsoft got cold feet and started releasing all of these games on Windows 10 making an Xbox One completely worthless to me.

But they are not releasing all games on the Xbox One. That has been stated numerous times. So we are not sure why you keep passing off false information. BTW, you also can't get Forza 6, Forza 5, Forza Horizon 2 on PC either.

Phil Spencer - "We’re gonna have games only released on the PC. We’re gonna have games only released on console."
I can't even imagine what these games are going to look like now.

PC's use system ram. Graphic card use VRAM ( GDDR5) split between the two is a problem.
9 gigs of GDDR5 just for gaming is overkill...
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-microsoft-gives-more-memory-to-scorpio-devs
Microsoft has revealed that it has freed up more memory for Project Scorpio game developers. The machine ships with 12GB of GDDR5 memory - and now 9GB of the total is available for titles, with the remaining 3GB used for system-level operations and other applications, including a native 4K dashboard. The news comes via a tweet from Mike Ybarra, corporate vice president of the Xbox and Windows gaming platform.
During our trip to Microsoft's Redmond campus a few months back, the Xbox hardware teamtold us that the split was 8GB for titles and 4GB for the system. This still represents a large increase over the memory available on the standard Xbox One, where 5GB of memory is free for developer use. For Scorpio though, 9GB is now on tap for game-makers, the extra memory used for the larger render targets required for a 4K framebuffer, as well as higher resolution art.
More memory for games is obviously a good thing, and Microsoft's work in this area now sees Scorpio's system reservation achieve parity with Xbox One's - no mean feat bearing in mind that move to a native 4K dash. Based on a further Ybarra tweet, it seems that titles that don't use the extra memory can utilise whatever's left as a caching system, to help speed up loading times. Ybarra says this can applies to all software, whereas previously, we understood that only Xbox One titles running on Scorpio would get the upgrade. We've asked Microsoft for clarification. [UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed that Ybarra is talking about the existing Xbox games library here.]

MS don't care, if you don't buy their console. If you play a game on Windows 10, belonging to them, you're an xbox gamer. Microsoft made money either way. It's only fanboys who truly care about this stuff.

Not to mention, which ever games do make it to both console and PC from MS, it's a win win with Play Anywhere. I love that I can buy Gears of War 4 on my Xbox, and then I can also play it on a PC and laptop and not have to buy more than one copy, and they all play together online and seamless saves. More options > Less options. Most people don't have gaming PC's anyway, so that only affects a small amount of people, but at least it is there.

Dude don't even mention something like that to them. Sony fanboys love getting ripped off. That's why they rather have a paid game streaming service rather than BC.

True, options is never a bad thing, just like BC on xbox one.
