An 8.5-8.0 isn't sufficient?Dang!! I was looking forward to this too. More time for Demon's Souls now, which isn't a bad thing.

It's not the game itself that's broken, but the ability to connect with others online. Just doesn't workThat is very discouraging they release a lower quality version of the same game on PS3... The PS3 may not be blatantly superior in processing, but it also is not blatantly inferior. Why release the game if it is apparently not ready? Post release patches for a broken game is kinda ridiculous, especially when the score doesn't always change to reflect the fix in the patch.
Like Fallout 3 for example, I played post patch and never had issues with the game. But the intial review claims it is flawed because a developer that preaches equal quality all through development releases a sub par game on one console.
Not that big of a deal I suppose, but still discouraging.

Why the need to say the same thing twice in two different posts? I can't wait to get my hands on this game and the score doesn't really bother me 8.5 is good for what it is, I really was hyping this game a 9 though but I guess the reviewers didn't like the technical problems. It is probably first day server problems. The game is probably the same and will change the score a week later. Not even a patch.

Hopefully its like the NHL 10 review.
That sucks though. The reason is: Online issues at launch, including broken Friends list functionality
Hopefully this is something that gets patched
"Alas, PS3 owners will have to wait for a fix in order to fight alongside their friends."
Wow, talk about unprepared launch.
A whole 0.5 off for that though? Im wondering if the review will be changed when it gets patched seeing as this is an unacceptable issue. I wonder what the other online issues are

They would probably go back and do an "After the Fact: Reviews Revisited"
A whole 0.5 off for that though? Im wondering if the review will be changed when it gets patched seeing as this is an unacceptable issue. I wonder what the other online issues areAlpha-Male22
But they never go back and rereview, change a review, or change a score.
The problem will likely be fixed, but I doubt GS will change their review. They didn't do so for Socom: Confrontation after all.nervmeisterThey did an "after the fact" though...
It just wouldn't be feasible for Gamespot to re-review games because of patches and what-not.
[QUOTE="loco145"]So, the PC version gets 90?Halo__Reachnopeit probably will, most of the reviews stated that the console versions both had framerate issues but the pc version didn't have any, i would expect the pc version to be marked up by GS, it would be pretty hypocrital of GS not to do so
Good reviews, but I'm still waiting for the PC version. Judging from what IGN, Giant Bomb and Gearbox have said about the PC version, it'll hopefully be worth the wait.

The reason the PS3 version got marked down is because the online is simply broken. I seriously doubt that the PC version's framerate is that much better than the console versions, especially since it's relative to your hardware anyway.

The console versions run at 30FPS with occasional FPS drops as opposed to the PC's constant 60FPS. This is a pretty noticeable difference if the player wants smoother gameplay. But if you don't have the hardware then there wouldn't be much point in waiting for the PC version unless you have plenty of friends on the platform.
Great score for BL yet sadly another Multiplat bites the dust on the PS3. Even if it's fixed or not, that's no excuse to release a version that scores lower.
I wonder what the PC version will get. About on par with 360, perhaps?nintendoboy16Most likely.
And then cows will hate gamespot then..or maybe they will say that MS paid gamespot for higher review than the ps3 version..or maybe they will said gamespot reviewer is lemming-ScorpionKingNo they will say that gamespot has gone downhill ever since the wretched ODST score of 9.
the single player will keep the ps3 owners occupied till the patch it, it's a server issue so it should be patched most ricky ytick, lems can't claim ownage on this, it's not the ps3's fault, it's the devsdelta3074
I agree.

Ohh im not i personally think he is hilarious, and still a great reciever.
yet he still wrecks almost every team he plays for. Well you can't really say that about Buffalo. The team was wrecked regardless. This should be played on PC anyway so... /thread

No offence but this is a typical Sony fanboy post. Using this logic PS3 owner never play multiplats on their console since every single one looks better on PC...:?
On topic, congratulations 360. It never desapoints :P

Split screen is fine though right? Cuz that's all i really care about :P
Anyway, nice score, got what i expected
If this was the other way around,ps3 fanboys would be going around rejoicing and claiming victory over XBOX360..
So YES! this is Ownage....deal with it.
you fanboys simply just cant Brush this one off by Yelling "Patch!" or simply saying "Lazy Devs!"
now i see why people pay for xbox live.....quality online Gameplay.
so you ps3 fanboys can keep your version with broken online gameplay and ill take the better version.
the fact remains:

i can see it right now...

The PC review didn't mention any of its specific advantages. The reviewer just seemed to do a copy and paste job.i find it interesting that ign review of borderlands didn't mention the ps3's issues at ALL... i skimmed their review and i found nothing.

seems like PS3 owners always have to wait for a patch, bottom line, 8.5 for the 360, 8.0 for the PS3. Its a joke how the PS3 seems tohaving these problems
