WOW, Talk about making games easy. Its so easy they might as well make it for the wii.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
"Automatic mode can be turned on or off at any given time, and players can still control movement if desired, making it ideal for casual gamers and even dear old Mom." is what you're supposed to get from this.
Why? thats not the only way to play the game.[QUOTE="reyad-u"][QUOTE="Yandere"]
Pathetic, lost any respect I could have for the devs.
Yandere
Allowing the option to do so is pathetic.. The majority of games are easy enough already.
You are being supremely silly.Would casuals even buy Bayonetta?
But, seriously, i dont see the point of this at all. I dont think even casuals would have fun mashing a single button and never die, maybe for3 year olds or something.

Seems like to me that it was only added to make it more accessible to those that don't usually play these sort of games.Wow is right. She only had to press two buttons to look like a bad ass, finally a mode that an amputee can enjoy. I hope they disabled trophies/achievements when playing that easy? Otherwise hoarders will whip through the gameas fast as they can. Any word on whatthe hardest lvl is called it better be a real challenge?

Seems like to me that it was only added to make it more accessible to those that don't usually play these sort of games. It also makes it the only game of it's genre disabled people (well, some) can play.

Developers have got the wrong idea about casuals.. They like challenge just as much as the hardcore. Just not insanely difficult challenge. This is just taking it to the extreme. How can you even enjoy this mode. You can play it with eyes closed. If I was a casual I'd be pretty insulted right now.Would casuals even buy Bayonetta?

Causals mostly have a different image at what they call a callange then more veteran players wouldn't they? I see casuals calling games like Petz and Mario Kart Wii hard.
Doesn't make any sense for you to say that, at least the game is now playable by more a more casual easy-going fanbase, hell even my Mother could play it if she wanted to, see where I'm going with this? It's in no way a bad thing.Pathetic, lost any respect I could have for the devs.
Yandere
Knowing these guys, they are bound to put in some heavy-hardcore-expert mode.

Indeed. Its like they think casuals are 3 year old brain dead retards or something. Look at Tetris, it provides challenge, but its simple concept appeals to casuals.
I have no idea wtf they were thinking on this. Maybe its for Trophy/Points whores?
 Oh, God.
Yes, having this option completely destroys the game! It doesn't matter what the other difficulty settings are like - just the fact that they included such a feature means that it's a dumbed-down casual game for kids and old people.
/s
might as well included a botting feature. Therefore you dont have to stay there and press a single button. Anyways, game looks stylish. w/e that mode is im sure im not touching it.

No offense but in this case it's you who thinks like that. Some casuals will indeed enjoy mashing two buttons to flashy graphics. Does that make them retards? nope.
interactive movies?
qte?
are you a retard for watching action movies?

I think repeating the same few moves over and over again while pressing one button for a few hours will get boring.

Because a casual is going to pay $60 for a video game he never heard about to watch some flashy scenes right?
No. The developers are totally on the wrong marketwith this one. Like you said, the casual would go and watch an action flick if he wanted to watch flashy scenes.

There's still no point in blaming them for implenting it. It's going to benefit the five one-handed casuals who will buy it.

I never blamed them. I just cant see the point of this at all.
And good luck getting one-handed casuals to buy the game. But yeah, it will benefit them.

In all honesty that applies to the way many people completed many much more hardcore games. It would'nt appeal to me or you but I'm sure neither of us would ever consider playing Wii Play either. I know I had enough within 2 minutes of watching it.

I very much doubt that was their reasoning for making an ultra noob mode. They just think all casuals are stupid that is their reasoning, and they will go through any lengths to dumb the game down in an attempt to make money.
I'm not sure I want my mom to play this. Or if I even want her to know it exists!"Automatic mode can be turned on or off at any given time, and players can still control movement if desired, making it ideal for casual gamers and even dear old Mom." is what you're supposed to get from this.

:\ @ the people mad over this. The game is from the creator of DMC so I'm sure it'll have a very nice and challenging difficulty for veterans of the genre. Why you all are so pissed over the games difficulty being highly scalable puzzles me. It's not like you have to play the game like that (I high doubt it) before unlocking harder difficulties. x_x I'm glad it's there...now when my little cousin sees me playing maybe the game can hold his attention for more than 5 minutes because he'll be doing crazy combos too.killab2oo5Nobody is mad. It's just mind numbingly numbing how developers to think casuals to be so stupid only making themselves look stupid in the process.
gameplay with one hand... I read some comments on the website and some guys were talking weiner jokes than I thought... "HHMMMM bayonetta fanboys like anime. anime has chicks. bayonetta has hot anime chick who gets half naked during gameplay..." than there is one handed gameplay which gives the fanboys an extra hand to... OMGGOGOGOOFOFOFOFOOF IM GONNA BUY DIS GAME joking but seriously I think thats the reason why they included it 0_ololwotrickroll... My God. I think you may be right. Hideki is a genuis!!

I understand, but how is it stupid? maybe the mode really is made to let the fanboys touch themselves. the fact that it's only an option means that you shouldn't badmouth it. ive played games on their hardest difficulties, and sometimes it's just plain unfair. however it's optional and I don't see why anyone should complain /:http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/25/bayonettas-automatic-mode-demonstrated-with-one-hand/

What's a games difficulty have to do with a system?...
Also, playing the Wii is probably the most challenging of any system. Anybody can move their fingers. Not everyone can get up and play Wii Tennis.
