fixed.

However, we all know PC gaming is more expensive then console gaming up front. But we also know if you kick in the HDTV which most people have here, it's actually less expensive. And considering you can play PC in a much higher resolution then HDTV's anyway it doesn't make sense also.

But whatever. You pay for what you get and PC gaming is always one step beyong console gaming.

fixed if u have a 5k pc

hd screens are much bigger then pcs also u can only display the screen max settings . to buy a monitro with more then 1920x1080 costs 400$ easy

Yea but that's still cheaper then an HDTV, and when are you sitting a foot and a half away from an HDTV? Monitors fill the same amount of your vision as an HDTV, since you're meant to sit farther from an HD then a monitor.

[QUOTE="Heil68"]When can I play MGS4, Rachet and Clank TOD? Heavenly Sword? Uncharted? Warhawk? Little Big Planet?, on a computer?Heil68

When Can I play wow, crysis, spore, hellgate london, use mods (biggie) play cs:s on teh 360 or da ps3?

Exactly! THANK YOU for proving MY point. Fanboys miss out.

I have no monies for the other systems :( I want to play silent hill 5 when it comes out, not when its ported to p.c. But, I can't have everything can I? Actually, I like the ps3. Its stylish, quiet, free online, blu-ray and has its far share of good games coming out.

They didnt have a $6000 PC. Do you have a link??? Or is this just from your crystal ball that tells you everything??? Plus like someone else said. They havent released crysis because they are still optimizing it so it will run great. Next time think before using your crystal ball.

Except they were running the pre-alpha engine build on a 7800GT with a single core processor with no framerate hitches whatsoever.

A complete computer that can max Crysis will run you around 1500-2000, depending on how much you spend on the monitor and how much overkill you throw in for "good measure."

My machine without a monitor cost me just under 1000dollars without taxes here in Canada (so overall it was about 1200). Tis a pretty damn good machine as well, runs most graphical intensive games at maximum. Doubt it would run Crysis since that game is supposed to be DX10 only, however I will have no problem maxing out UT3 on DX9 with my video card.

The HDD is too small...Vista will take a nice chunk out of it.If your gonna be an avid PC gammer, you need a bigger HDD than that.A card with atleast 256mb of RAM would be better too...128mb is outdated.Nice computer though.

mastershake575

Lol, you can barely run current games on all high settings with that setup. I don't mean to make fun of you, but in all honesty you get a better deal buying a console where everything is standardized and guranteed to run the correct way. Really for PC gaming you should plan to spend big if you want an experience superior to that of a console and worth spending the extra money. Spend around $1,500 on the pc alone (no monitor or speakers) and you got a rig that will last you about two years if you want to run your games on all high settings in contrast to spending $400 or less on a console which is guranteed to run the games you buy at the highest settings of the respective console for its entire lifespan. Sure PC gaming is superior, but only if you spend the big bucks. If you don't care what your games look like or whether they run at 30 fps on low settings compared to 60 fps on high settings then more power to you. That doesn't change the fact however that consoles are much more economically priced for a similar experience if you just take into account the gaming aspects of the PC. I don't think however that the PC vs. Console debate is going to come to an end anytime soon. Just take this into account; (I don't think anyone will disagree with me) a $400 computer and lets even go as far to say you built it (so you get better quality parts for cheaper), would still not run games nearly as well as an Xbox 360.

Becuase it's a one time investment that isn't part of the PC.

Takethe monitor and TV out of the equation (taking out the PC monitor was stated in the first post). You really can't compare prices including a monitor or TV. For example $1500 PC that can actually run at high settings at 1080p equivalent or higher and then add a $500 that is less then 32"monitor making the total cost $2000. Take a $500 console and add a $1500 1080p HDTV that is 40" and the total cost comes to $2000.

not true. if you are building a whole computer(everything including mouse and keyboard and os) and buying everything yourself, its impossible to cost less than 1000 to run all these new games such as crysis on full.

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04&kc=6W300&l=en&oc=bdcwyfz&s=bsd select no monitor and add a 8600gt to make the price $569and you have a great gaming machine so why do people say buh buz you need a $2000 computer when you can get that one cheaper than the ps3 that will play games on par if not better and do so much more plus if you spend $50 more you can get a 1950xt which is way better than the consoles gpu

mistervengeance

not true. if you are building a whole computer(everything including mouse and keyboard and os) and buying everything yourself, its impossible to cost less than 1000 to run all these new games such as crysis on full.

um where did i say that the computer will run new games on high i can't find it in that paragraph plus if you get the x1950xt for $50 more you should come very close to maxing out crysis in direct 9

Lol, you can barely run current games on all high settings with that setup.

1. the consoles can't even run games that look as good as a pc on high settings

2. the x1950xt eats games alive what are you talking about

I own a X1950XT you ignorant pc fanboy and I can tell you it does not "eat games alive." Hello, earth to hermits have you never seen Gears of War? I would dare to say it looks better than most PC games today. Look at reviews for the 8600GT and even people with an E6600 and 2 gigs of ram struggle to play current games on the highest settings. Sure a 8600GT is not too bad right now, but only if you have the other hardware to back it up and what happens when Bioshock, Gears of War,Crysis, or UT3 come out? I seriously doubt a 8600GT is going to offer a greater experience over that of console. Why don't you quote the rest of my post next time instead of making it look like I am here just to bash the PC. Take a look at the unions I am in, I think I know what I am talking about. If it was extremely evident that a 500 somewhat PC offered an experience far superior to that ofa console then why are we even debating this subject. Consoles would not be taking over the gaming market because everyone could afford a great gaming PC and do other stuff on it too. Too bad most of us live in reality.

Proof that even the hermits are subject to fanboyism.

Optimization, and working on the framrate are the llast things done on a game along with bugtesting. That's what they're doing with the game now, and what they'll be doing until November.

do

It costed me $1300 to upgrade my processor, RAM, HDD, and to put in an 8800GTX.

You're posting a cheap setup.

BioShockOwnz

Games don't need high-end graphics setting to play good.

Sorry, I don't mean to get nasty about it mastershake, but I encounter way to many stubborn people who claim a "$500 pc will run Crysis maxed out" or that it offers a far superior experience from a console on new games which couldn't be further from the truth. I didn't realize you owned a 360 as well. I am just kind of pissed right now because I was supposed to sell my X1950XTto my cuz tommorrowbecause he just bought a $500 HP for gaming and he only has an integrated graphics card. I was going to use the money for my new pc fund, but I found out that those plans aren't going to happen just yet.

Lol obviously you know NOTHING about Epic and a little game they created called Unreal Tournament. All Unreal Tournament games have been otpimized to provide a broad user base. I was able to enjoy UT2004 with a 2000 Dell Optiplex (which had an "amazing" Intel 8mb integrated grfx chip, 800mhz Intel P3, 256mb ram, and 18 HDD) and on my brother's Dell laptop (Nvidia 5200 series).

You guys shouldn't take out the monitor as part of the price.

You need a decent monitor to play games in a great resolution.

mastershake575

Add's price of Decent HDTV to console becuse you need it to plays games in a great resolution. PS3 now = $1499

Wasn't talking about a PS3.

This thread is about a $2000 setup.

Why leave out the price of a monitor?

no actually this thread is about a $2000 computer not full stepup

You do need a monitor to play games, don't you?

And you need a good one to play it at those ridiculous resolutions.

I love my new 2100$ PC. The facts are simple. 1. Get a job. 2. You get what you pay for.
