There's been a recent IGN podcast with Phil Spencer and here's the overview:
•Better year for keeping secrets "secret"
•Recore is playable at their offices, he played it the Friday before E3, "feels like a great new first party exclusive"
•Open to ideas from partners for older IPs (Rare mentioned) or newer things (like Recore) and loves working on new IPs (brief mention of decisions around Gears)
•Halo 5 free maps was a 343 decision, wasn't a blanket decision over all MS first party games
•Twisted Pixel will show when ready basically they need the time to make what they want to make, doesn't really commit to Gamescom either, said the same about Inside (from Playdead) too [as a side note, I think he was referring to Inside as a game they have a partnership on and he's asked about a lot, rather than being a first party game]
•Backwards compatibility was something he commissioned the team to do when he took over the head of Xbox job, wasn't sure if it would even work and hit a break through in January. First party are all in with their games, they need to lead the way. Mentions 360 GwG as back compat titles - this is huge
•Doesn't sound like a 3rd Forza franchise is coming "not right now", he said Horizon does "incredibly well" for them, Playground are "top notch". Team might have ideas but they're busy right now
•Asked about the sort of games missing from the line-up that they're looking at and he mentioned Moba-likes (Gigantic, FL, Smite) and F2P MMOs, said Neverwinter is "an incredible success", mentions Everquest by accident
•Referred to Sea of Thieves as "group co-operative gameplay" with the ships, social, co-op rather than an MMO. Mentioned bigger co-op games which they don't have in their line-up but they're starting on , talks about not having "large scale co-op" games which they're starting to work on
•Fable Legends doesn't stop LH doing a more "traditional RPG" Fable game
•Says if his teams have been doing something for a while with a new creative spark and want to go and do something different like Sea of Thieves he wants to be supportive of that
•Xbox 360 is the biggest market base to upgrade and BC/big exclusives are to try and get those people to upgrade, represents the biggest opportunity for people who haven't upgraded yet
•BC doesn't stop them doing remasters (was asked about Halo Reach specifically) but nothing to announce/planned with HR, will likely be BC long before they'd actually get it on Xbox One itself
•Talks about XBLA, likes the idea of Summer of Arcade [they've announced Summer Spotlight so similar thing]
•More Kinect games coming unannounced from 3rd parties etc, making sure they're investing in the technology to make it better, mentions the new dashboard
