PS3s exclusives are simply the best and here's a game developer admitting it.

Dude Killzone 2 is not a better game than Halo. It may be technically superior but its not the complete package.

I do have beef with the source but lets look at it right down lems will deny it cows will aswel.
A lot of games are inspired by one another i mean look at Forza when it first appeared a lot of it was heavily influenced by Gran Turismo and the likewise has happened with GT5 taking a lot of influence from a few Forza design choices its the way industry works.
Also its entirely possible they have took a lot of influence unlike this board developers are nor fanboys contradictory to popular belief i mean Bungie and Naughty dog i will say are actually pretty friendly yet play for diffrent teams and praise one anothers work from time to time much in the same vein of bands they might be your rival on the charts but produce good music i mean look at a lot of bands a lot of them do praise one anothers works (then you have the tallica megadeth spat bit like fanboyism :P).
Point of the matter is that probably Killzone 2 will have played some part in the new lookof halo which is much grittier and i think will actually be a good choice.
I also remember when lems and cows fought over KZ2 and GeoW looking alike then finding out the lead designers for both games respectively had actually worked on Jazz Jackrabit many many moons ago aswell..
And Killzone exists due to the success of Halo on consoles. You're right.I do have beef with the source but lets look at it right down lems will deny it cows will aswel.

[QUOTE="Episode_Eve"]So did Killzone influence Gears of War, Half Life, Doom, Quake, and on and on? OMG Killzone invented the dark and gritty feel. Oh wait Hiphopgamer said this so it must be true1.) Not sure if HHG has a source on this one. The video won't load for me right now, so I can't watch it...
2.) Whether it's true or not, I'll say that I think Halo Reach's visuals do remind me of KZ2 in ways. Dark, gritty, and pretty :).
SilentlyMad
Don't read too much into my comment. No, I don't think so and I don't think Killzone "invented the dark and gritty feel". I do think it's does it the best (being the most recent example) , but that's my opinion of course. Also, this "vidicle" of HHG's isn't proof of such comments.
I do think that Reach looks like KZ2 in ways--not necessarily being influenced by it. It also looks like Halo: Combat Evolved. As for the other games you mentioned, they may share some vague similarities to other titles, but I didn't mention them because they're not as relevant to the topic .
Well, this is certainly something for the 360 fanboys to talk about, eh?jalexbrown
yeah, Bungie will show PS3 fanboys whata real console FPS is about, eh?

He's just spouting nonesense. No quote, no interview, no nothing. Just speculation.
if bungie does come out and say they did then that's a cool move :) love competing developers helping each other out! It can only benefit us :)

well no **** xD Halo popularised the genre on consoles and was possibly the first really acessible console shooter.Look at MoH (y know the one with Normany) and then Halo both launched the same year but Halo was much more ahead and enjoyable for the average console gamer.I remember i turned 12 got £200 at Christmas and bout the ye olde brick xbox purely for Halo and Jet set radio future damn i feel old now ;(

And Halo inspired Gorrilla to make Killzone... OMG TEH FULL CIRCLE

Yes because Halo is the first, 1st person shooter to have ever been created :P
technically speaking. I do think the persistance in sticking with the Killzone series is because of the success Microsfot has had with Halo. I would assume Sony looks at it this way, if we negate Microsoft's biggest weapon(Halo in this case) than we can stampede them. Not saying Killzone is a halo clone or anything, but I do think Sony is wanting to have a FPS mega seller ala Halo.Sony is all about trying out different and possible new ideas, thats according to what they are aiming for this gen. While They've had amazing sucess in the past with Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, GTA, etc. back in the PS2 era with all these killer ip's that were once exclussive at some point to them, I see what you're trying to say. MS did worship their efforts back in the begining of 09 with Killzone2
They lack a 1st person shooter killer IP. They have it. But don't know how to work it and make it appealing to a wider audience like Halo and Call of Duty has done.
While Guerrilla might have gotten a few different ideas here and there, in my honestly opinion, they have enhanced the looks and feel of a 1st person shooter not seen before on consoles. And seeing the looks of Reach, its possible that MS its taking notes in Killzone's 2 strongest aspects

Killzone was origianally a PC shooter dubbed "Kin". Folks at Sony saw it and liked the idea. Halo could def. have been an inpsiration to them publishing it! Then again, so was the content & visuals of the actual game.

Either way, they got their quality shooters this gen--Killzone being a frontrunner. It's not as popular as Halo or Call of Duty...but hardly any shooters are lol.

Do people seriously believe Killzone 2 was the first shooter to have the gritty, grey look? Seriously? No one has any evidence that Bungie has been inspired or motivated by KZ2, so i think we should drop it.Not sad to hear it. Ive been playing Killzone 2, and the game is great. Graphics are out of this world.
