The PS3 is overtaking the 360 in the graphics department already, depsite the 360 having been out a year longer. Looks like the 360 GPU with the spiffy dram isn't all that great afterall.teh_cell

It would be better if devs were allowed to use the HDD to help out, especially since the consoles both have limited ram.

And for the record, the 360 is superior where it counts, games.

NO. The PS3 was supposed to be a powerhouse far beyond the 360. What you got was a huge screwup. Crippled architecture and bad design choices give you a machine that despite it's all powerfull cell, fails in so many other catagories. Countless devs have been quoted as saying they are equal in power (With regards to the end user of course).

If you want power, try a gaming rig kid.

Right now Uncharted is deffinetly the best looking console game. Alan Wake however will be a worthy opponent. Dont know when its getting released though, so the PS3 might have a better looking game out by then.Can-o-Mark

No way, UT3 on ps3 easily looks better than Uncharted. UT3 is second only to crysis in the graphics department.

Yes, this is the most interesting thing that can be said about this thread.

I still think Gears looks better than Uncharted. Uncharted is nicer artistically because it has a great use of vibrant colours, but in terms of textures and detail it definately goes to Gears. Mass Effect is definately up there too, although the frame rate suffers for it.

The difference in power between the two consoles is minimal. It's smaller than the difference between the xbox and PS2; and did you ever see a game on one of those platforms which looked insanely better than on the other? No.

Cows love hyping Drakes fortunes graphics because thats the only good thing to say about it :lol:

got an 8.0 on GS and is AA on gameranking :wink:

sales are abysmal

and its a short single player rental :lol:

FAIL!p s3 has no AAA in X-spot,go to the other sites andl ook SIR!and now more than ever, i actually believe gamespot is BS since they gave ME the best voice acting...heavenly sword was obviosuly the best!!!

Uncharted is a mix of Low and High resolution textures with small enviroments and low poly character models,and don't forget the jaggies and texture pop in,hell even my quake 4 mod pack has better texture than uncharted :lol:,Gears is a year old game and uncharted still looks comparable to it what a shame, and is running on a 'super computer' :roll:BovinesOnPaska

And what is wrong with Mass Effect? Aside from the occational glitch...that game is easily one of the best looking on consoles.

Sony's first and second dev teams are awesome, it's hard to compare because MS and Sony don't make the same games, and Sony are just damn talented.

If Alan Wake comes out, and the 360 does it justice, then we'll have some words to say. So until then, I dunno. Drake is a very impressive game no doubt. To be fair however, Naughty Dog did say they could prob. make the game for the 360. You would just to rewrite it to take advantage of the 360's strength. Space could be a problem, but talking just graphics. Honestly, there was nothing in that game that couldn't be done on the 360. The animations were freakin awesome, so it'd be interesting to see if the 360 could pull em off, only cause I know they used Cell a lot for em...

anyhow this needs to stop really, just play the games everyone seen the PS3 spec sheet we all know that it has the most powerful hardware. Its the devs that make or break the system. Alan Wake upcoming looks better than any PS3 title.

DoA4 looks better then Uncharted for goodness sake. :roll: I've played Uncharted before the demo was even out and the graphics were good, but definitely not Gears of War good.

mass effect has such inconsistend graphics that i don't consider it even a contender.

Some faces and textures are downright horrible. Sometimes it's just stunning looking though.

But a LOT of detail was downscaled since we first saw it.

Uncharted is awesome. I loved the game. I think it is a better SP game than gears, because it has a good story with likable characters, I think gears has better looking graphics though.

Uncharted is awesome. I loved the game. I think it is a better SP game than gears, because it has a good story with likable characters, I think gears has better looking graphics though.
