By a land slide...Lair is the biggest flop in SW (56k)

Was just wondering what you all thought was the biggest flop. System Wars never determined the biggest flop,and I'm interested...so I decided to make a thread and count up the votes to see. I'm not including a poll because there are so many choices to choose from and 5 answers is just not enough. :D Also...it'll kill time untill e3.

I began posting here when it was all about next-gen and I know of only a few flops from last gen. T_T They are only "honarable mentions"...feel free to choose your own game.

the size of a flop isn't determined by the popularity of the game, but the difference of what it was hyped at, and what it actually received.... therefore LAIR is the flop KING!

why put Motorstorm and Resistance... both are great games... surely those who bash them didnt even get to play the games, but for real these are great games... not getting a 9.5 or higher score doesnt mean flop..

There is no bigger disappointment than being hyped a Halo killer..... and then getting a B.

But mathematically speaking, Lair is the biggest flop, missed its mark by 3.5

why put Motorstorm and Resistance... both are great games... surely those who bash them didnt even get to play the games, but for real these are great games... not getting a 9.5 or higher score doesnt mean flop..

You talking about 99 nights? I played a demo of that game in a shop, I don't see why anyone would've gotten excited after it, it was the most mindless hack n' slash game I've ever played.

i understand you measure the hype with the actual scores... do you measure the fun all those who got the games had... cause i would easily say

thousands (maybe millions) who loved both games > the reviews/scores by few reviewers... but thats my opinion :)

OKay then..... so then TP & Mass Effect are not flops, because they were commercial successes..... I wasn't the one who decided what a flop was.... SW did, I'm just following the rules.... ever notice how a game is labeled a flop or not, as soon as the score is given.... Hmmm.... geee.... I wonder why that is.....

Doom 3 and Lair

Twilight Princess gets the award for biggest reaction.

Lair, definitely. It had all the recipes for a great game, good developer, great graphics, good funding.. hyped to the moon.

And it failed, in every damn way possible.

Killzone was pretty bad, but hey...a 6.9 is a pretty decent game ^_^

yeah i agree that Lair was a disappointment, but i replayed the game with the controls update and it felt much better... still though it promised so much but delivered so much less :)

Zelda, by far.

It's sad that Mass Effect is even in that list. Whatever, it got AAA on the PC. That truly shows how much Gamespot ****ed up the Xbox 360's review.

Mass Effect is not a flop because PC version got 9.0. Instead, you should write Mass Effect (360 version).

Zelda, by far.

It's sad that Mass Effect is even in that list. Whatever, it got AAA on the PC. That truly shows how much Gamespot ****ed up the Xbox 360's review.

It was AAA on PC because they finished making it for the PC release. The 360 version was an open beta, I thought they sent all the 360 folk a thank you letter for taking part?
