It's amazing how a revolutionary game comes around like Fable 2 (If it DOES live up to the hype) and all you people care about are the technical side of the graphics.

It has a diffrent art direction, the graphics aren't better or worse , its going for more of a cartoony feel rather than a realistic one. Please don't make yourself look like a fool, people ARE watching...FLamezero991

You definatly posted some of the worst pics for those games, but even if you had the good ones, that forest of Fable 2 is simply put so AMAZING, that nothing compares

And imagine that when the sun moves, the light beams, volumetric effects and shadows all will move with in real time

That would be a spectacle !!! Give me some real amazing pics of forests so i can comment, for now, those pics mean nothing to me, as nothing comparing to Fable 2 beauty

I have to note, that the small level linear games like GT5 and Killzoner 2 are TOTALLY out of place in here, you can't have Fable 2, Crysis, Far Cry 2 and ............. killzone 2, it is apples and oranges in game worlds

Did i mention that NONE of the other games bar Crysis and Far Cry 2 has volumetric light beams and lighting ? Or such VAST detail and open world ? They should not even be in this comparisson at all IMO

Amazing that some people can't seem to be able to seperate technical graphics from artistic graphics. Its not that hard, you can like World of Warcraft's art style all you want, but that isn't a get out of jail free card when somebody says another game has technically superior graphics.

Draw distance, textures, character models, etc. That silly Fable shot that poor saolin loves to throw around barely looks better than Oblivion.

Why are you trying to compare realistic looking games to a game that uses a far more cartoony and vibrant art style? In my opinion, Fable 2 DOES look better than those games simply for the fact that it isn't using a gritty monotone color pallete. Thats not to say that the graphics themselves are as impressive as the other games you displayed, but saying Fable 2 looks bad in comparison is just showing your colors as a graphics whore. Its this same reason that I think Bioshock is the best looking game of last generation, despite being like 1 of 4 games released last year that utilized UE3 tech. Just do a side by side to Gears. UE3 may have been designed with Gears of War in mind, but Bioshock actually took some time to do more with its art direction.gamer620

I think he is referring to yesterday's thread of one guy called saoling claiming that fable 2 was far more advanced than crysis. What a coincidence that guy doesn't appear now.

I'm pretty sure it's only saolin that hypes the graphics to kingdom come but nobody listens to him so that's okay. Everybody else accepts that they're not going for realism.

Do they look better really now ? Apart from Crysis and far Cry 2, i do not see grasses in any of them, those games can't even handle the ammount of grass Fable 2 does, as for the lighting and volumetric light beams fltered throught the trees, there games might run them in 1 frame per ... hour

Nice try, but you have to try harder proving those pics look better, they look everything from more empty, with less stuff around, worst lighting, no volumertic lighting, not so amazing shadows etc etc as Fable 2, that is, miles behind in every way, and if you add the art factor, then you have an overkill iMO

Killflop 2 ? :lol: theres more color in one picture of Fable 2 then there is in the entire game of Killflop 2

It is by far one of the worst looking microsoft published games, and it isn't even close ot best looking game period. I'm just wondering how this game, compares to something like kameo, or OVERLORD

give it up saolin, F2 doesn't look that good, RE5 is the graphics king. /thread.club-sandwich

Let's see

- trees, more and VASTLY more detailed in Fable 2

- grass more and vastly better in Fable 2

- shadows abour same, but Fable 2 does a real time day/night cycle, and has shadows from each leaf to each other leaf in a whole forest, unlike RE5 that does a tree here and there, and shadows do not move or stretch with a moving sun

- HDR, tie

- Lighting, VASTLY better on Fable 2, see that VOLUMETRIC light beam, which moves with the sun, and is only found in Crysis so far, RE5 is not eben close

- Charatcers, better in RE5 of course by miles, the ONLY main thing RE5 is better at

- Textures, about a tie, with an edge to RE5 so far, but Fable 2 textures are getting a lot better by the day
