[QUOTE="p2rus"][QUOTE="saolin323"]You definatly posted some of the worst pics for those games,
saolin323
and yet they look better than the fable 2 shots that youve posted all over the place.
Do they look better really now ? Apart from Crysis and far Cry 2, i do not see grasses in any of them, those games can't even handle the ammount of grass Fable 2 does, as for the lighting and volumetric light beams fltered throught the trees, there games might run them in 1 frame per ... hour
Nice try, but you have to try harder proving those pics look better, they look everything from more empty, with less stuff around, worst lighting, no volumertic lighting, not so amazing shadows etc etc as Fable 2, that is, miles behind in every way, and if you add the art factor, then you have an overkill iMO
sorry, i didnt realize you counted strands of grass as your overall teh graphics winnar. but if you insist, i recommend cod4 or mgs3 snake eater, both have amazing grass that you can see. INDIVIDUALLY.i know i know wow thats like 100x next gen right there.
Secondly, the other screenshots dont have volumetric lighting or whatever the hell that is, but i can tell you that they have characters onscreen, i can see the individual hairs in re5. as for lighting, the lighting in killzone has been explored, why dont you see what fanboys of other games have to say about it, just search the sw board.
I didn't like the first Fable but all you guys talking about it constantly got my curiosity up a little bit.
The graphics look pretty sweet maybe I can put aside my bias about the first one and give it a try.
have you guys heard? the word of the day is volumetric lighting!p2rus
PC gamers used it to hype Crysis, with the amazing god rays etc, now it is minor ALL OF THE SUDDEN, because a 360 game does it ?
HAHAHAHA, how pathetic
Same goes for shadows, when Crysis was hyped for the amazing stretching with the sun shadows, it was ok, best hting on earth, now that Fable 2 does it, it is nothing to talk about !!!

well i could come back with 2 arguments: if the 360 can do it then yes, it is minor
or...
pc gamers who hype crysis based on volumetric lighting are fanboys. i wonder what that makes 360 gamers who hype games based on volumetric lighting...
you pick.

have you guys heard? the word of the day is volumetric lighting!p2rusI disagree, Fable 2 puts a lot more emphasis on grass than anything else. We should be talking about the grass not the lighting.

oh please...the grass is nothing. you just wait, peter promised that the grass will grow, and that one of the jobs you can get is a gardener. then just watch the amazing cutting animation, all done procedurally. 100x times better than crysis! more next gen then far cry! a TRILLION times better than kameo's grass!

Like oblivion, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, and many other games. This tech is so old that I could make fun of it. UNreal Engine 3 even had volumetric lighting. That means games like turok, and mass effect had that tech. You just change how much light goes through fog. That is it.[QUOTE="saolin323"][QUOTE="numba1234"][QUOTE="saolin323"][QUOTE="p2rus"]have you guys heard? the word of the day is volumetric lighting!numba1234

Maybe you have no idea what you are talking about ? Drake has nothing like it too, sorry
UE3.0 has no volumetric lighting at all, just some faked one
Try learning some things first, if you think there are volumes of light that move in Drake or UE3.0, then some PC expert will fill you in, that you have no idea what you are talking about

If I recall correctly, Fable 1 was supposed to have an amazing grass growth engine, like if you cut a blade of grass with your sword it would grow back in real time....if they actually do this in Fable 2 it will be amazing. For the first time in a video game we will actually be able to watch grass grow...and it will look a trillion times better than any other game.Sorry, get a clue first, Oblivion has no volumetric effects, or even dynamic real shadows

in oblivion when you have a torch it casts a shadow on everything, the shadow of your body changes as your hand goes back and forth in stride.

Hahahaha, this effect is a JOKE, have you ever played Oblivion ? Have you gone to the woods ? Do shadows move as the sun sets and rises ? Maybe in your dreams they do, same for towns etc
And there is no such thing as god rays and volumetric lighting in Oblivion
What a joke, you actually think you are right, don't you ?
[QUOTE="freakn3ss"]Rpg vs fps and driving game ?? that's a weird comparison

Hes doing graphics comparasion, not genre comparasion. I didnt know there was a rule saying two games of different genres couldnt be compared graphically :S
Well, if you compare Crysis to some other game that renders a lot less then it is not fair.

It's a very pretty game, but it's not as technically impressive as those games on your list, except KZ2, because that game has poor textures on the environment.BioShockOwnz
It is comparable to Far cry 2 and Crysis, but it is totally ahead of any of the other games, in detail, volumetric lighting, real 3D forests, vast landscapes etc

I have played it, all the main graphical attractions like the moving stretching shadows, the vast ammounts of trees and grass, that receive those shadows, the volumetric lighting from the sun filtering through trees, are ALL to be found in that pic of Fable 2 forest i posted.
So, you have something more to say ?

Sorry, Fable 2 doesn't look as good as Far Cry 2 or Crysis, not even close. It's artistic design is beautiful, though.BioShockOwnz
if you squint real hard and spray some windex in your eyes...worked for solin. read it on his fable 2 blog, really quite innovative.

Itr is ONLY opinion thereafter, fact is Fable 2 uses all those features, and they look so stunning that make it the absolutly best looking game on the market, coming or out so far to me
If you like more realistic art, Crysis is for you though, but technically Fable 2 DOES have all the above graphical features Crysis uses
So, that is a fact for you, Fable 2 is the best looking game for me, let's leave it at that
