Funny thing about that chart--GT4 sold about a third less than GT3. Perhaps interest is declining?Well let's look at history.
Gran Turismo 10.85 Million
Gran Turismo 9.37 Million
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec 14.87 Million
Gran Turismo 4 9.65 Million
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue 3.05 Million
(A $60 Demo sold 3.05 Million)
Halo 6.43 Million
Halo 2 8.46 Million
Halo 3 9.85 Million

If you believe vgchartz.com, then Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 3 both outsold Halo 3.

However, PS3 has sold far less than PS1 and PS2. It is unlikely GT5 could match Halo 3 sales unless PS3 sales pick up quite a bit. Gran Turismo 3 sold close to 15 million...but the install base of PS2 at that point in time was more than 3 times that of PS3 right now.
