Problem is Uncharted, Infamous, Ratchet and Clank are all low-tier exclusives that no one outside of their fanbases care about. 360 has Halo, Forza, Gears of War, Fable, Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect, and a lot more.

L4D was probably pirated more on the 360, but let's face it the average person bought L4D on the Xbox 360. if you want to play with your friends and on a couch, you bought the 360 version.

The PS3 is selling horrible, even with this price drop I doubt it's gonna be longterm. As you said, people are content with their Xbox 360's. Last gen the PS2 had all the casuals, now the 360 does. To many people, there is no reason to own a PS3. Infamous, Uncharted, LBP aren't good enough. Sony should've seriously kept Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, GTAIV and DMC 4 as exclusives.

As all of you kno, the ps3 just recently got a price drop to 299. So naturally, i went to some of my friends and told them about it. Almost all of them responded by saying, "oh the ps3 has no good games tho". This still puzzles me. I could understand if they said this in like 2007 or something, but its mid to late 2009. The ps3 has a ton of great games, but for some reason, whenever i talk to some of my other gamer friends, they completly write it off.

My question is, will sony ever be able to shake off that stigma amongst mainstream gamers, and if so, how.

In addition, contrary to what AHUGECAT says the PS3 ALREADY HAS GAMES CAPABLE OF BEING A HIT. The problem is that they've already been put in a bad position where they are the losing console, in the US AND Microsoft built the Xbox 360 fanbase and support over the years. I do think it will get better over time, but right the media hasn't been helping Sony that much at all as the media isn't really strong on gaming knowledge. What Sony has to do is effective advertising for the Slim AND their best games. What you do is get the PS3 Slims into the home and then advertise what will be the most success titles on your own network, PSN.

Also, I don't know how many of you are in College, but for me it's clear that fanboys in real life are 3x as bad as fanboys on System Wars. Usually since the PS3 is wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy more unpopular where I am, the general consesus JUST like the OP stated is that the PS3 has no games, but is good for bluray. This is part of the reason you find so many annoying PS3 fanboys on system wars. They need a place to talk about the good things about a PS3 since they can't talk with everyone else who typically have less gaming experience and claim the 360 as the definitive console.

I find it funny that the people who are bashing the ps3's line up either are a blantent fanboy or have some nintendo charater as their avatar.

I'm being honest. Games such as Infamous, LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted don't appeal to that many people. Metal Gear Solid 4 was a close killer-app but it was all alone. PS3 needs heavy hitters.

When the PS3 went to $399 it sold the same as it did when it was $599. PS3 really only outsold the 360 when Metal Gear Solid 4 came out.

That's the BIIIIGGGG problem for the PS3 right now.....

When it comes to X360, I need to get: GeoW, GeoW2, Dead Rising, Halo 3, Halo: ODST, Mass Effect etc.

For the Wii: SMG, SMG2, NSMB: Wii, SSBB, NMH, LKS, Mario Kart, Tiger Wood 10, Wii Sport Resort etc, etc, etc,....

The only game on the PS3 that will make gamers go, "Wow, I gotta buy the console to play the game is" MGS 4...And since I'm not that big of a MGS fan....

The only games on the PS3 that I want was FFXIII and GTA. And since both are now X360.....

So what is left for me is just GoW3....Not a big fan of GT.....So yeah, for me, PS3 need to hit $200 for me! GoW 3 don't cut it at $300

It's NOT the PS3 don't have the WOW games...It's the problem it just DOESN'T have the WOW games that gets people in the frenzy to go out and buy a console to play it/them!

The only games on those chart that can fire up the mainstream's imagination is MGS 4 and maybe LBP. The rest are good games, but most people would look at the price of the console, even at $300, shrugg their shoulders and go, "umm...forget it!" That's the problem Sony has right now!

Compared to this:

X360: Halo 3, GeoW, GeoW3, DR, Mass Effect etc. All these games get the X360 fanbase and in the case of Halo and GeoW, get the mainstream up in a storm and have them buy a X360 to play them.

And the Wii:

Wii: Wii Fit, Mario Kart, SMG, Metriod Prime, SSBB etc. All these game are console sellers that get people out and buy the console just to play them. That's the problem Sony have right now.

Give me a number because there is alot more than what you've listed so how many would justify it. Even if you don't think there is enough exclusives it still share alot with the 360 and less failures. I love my 360 and PS3 but all the bashing is crazy their both great units period.

It's NOT a question of numbers....Sometimes it takes just ONE (1) game to get the feeding frenzy started...AKA, on the X360, you can argue GeoW or Halo, on the Wii: you can argue a host of games, but for Casauls, Wii Fit or Mario Kart comes to mind, for Hardcores, SMG or SSBB!

For the Ps3.....Except MGS 4, and LBP, what other game can cause the general consumer to go all ga-ga, and have them go out and buy a PS3? You can argue all you want about "Uncharted, inFamous, Rachet and Clank, GT, etc, etc, etc, but if the general population goes, "pffffftttt....whatever..." Then the Ps3 will stay in 3rd forever!

I dont think PS3 needs anything its only problem was the high price tag it got many great games and since the beggining of 2009 my 360 started collecting the dust and PS3 gets all the playtime its just most of US people dont want to buy a non US product like how Japanese refuse buying a non Japanese product its different from PS2 Vs Xbox era back then PS2 was alot better than Xbox and it had many great games but now PS3 and 360 got nearly the same games except some few exclusives.

Probably not even 1,200 on Killzone 2. Xbox 360 (according to NPD) sold 2 million more than the PS3.... I doubt Japan can cover that gap (though it almost did).

Sony DOES use SHIPPED numbers to pad up their data in order to make themselves look good.

HELL, back in 2007, when, the PS3 was in dumps, they even resorted to use "in the pipeline" numbers to boost up their data! 2007, PS3 did not beat the X360 in any month, 2008, some month I think the PS3 did beat the X360, but not much. However, those lead were wiped out when the X360 dropped its price....
