Can Sony Shake this Bad Stigma

The PS3 is selling horrible, even with this price drop I doubt it's gonna be longterm. As you said, people are content with their Xbox 360's. Last gen the PS2 had all the casuals, now the 360 does. To many people, there is no reason to own a PS3. Infamous, Uncharted, LBP aren't good enough. Sony should've seriously kept Final Fantasy XIII, Tekken 6, GTAIV and DMC 4 as exclusives.

Wait...it's selling at almost exactly the same rate as the 360, so you are saying they both are selling horrible???

Why are there so many Sony fanboys on the internet? Oh yeah, lack of games. And the games you have have no replay value. Over 120,000 players on Halo 3 right now. Probably not even 1,200 on Killzone 2. Xbox 360 (according to NPD) sold 2 million more than the PS3.... I doubt Japan can cover that gap (though it almost did).

I have never seen a flagship shooter's online community die within a year. Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 were the first. Obviously PS3 owners don't think these are that great or they would still keep playing them right?

The PS3 needs a game that will sell millions and make people WANT the console. There is no game like Gears of War and/or Halo on the PS3 and it needs it, not badly though but it's still needed so it can be recognized among the common people. Sure it got MGS4 but that's certainly not a game for everyone and while most of the other games already mentioned in this thread are superb (in my opinion) it's obviously not what people in the real world believes, otherwise KZ2 (just to pick an example) would've boomed in sales - but it didn't, it simply just sold "alright". The PS3 needs a good iconic person (like Master Chief is to the Xbox and Samus/mario is to the Wii) so when people think of the PS3 they think of *insert name*, Nathan Hale, Sev, Cole, Drake ect. doesn't really do the job. The Sony PS3 'doesnt have Killer/Must have titles' is a stupid thing to say considering the pretty great list of 1st party exclusives Sony keeps pumping out..

People bashing PS3 forget to say that 360 = Halo3 and thats all you hear... Gears 1 & 2 did great in sales (and i love those titles) but its not like each game sold twice or more as much as MGS4 on PS3... Forza2 didnt sell much more compared to GT5P which is not actually the full GT experience or else simply a 'demo' as haters like to call it.. (Keep always in mind when discussing games' sales that 360 has a larger user install base)

PS3 haters want to make others believe that on 360 every exclusiveor greatmultiplat sell 5+ million while on PS3 sell under 1 million.. which is not the case..

I'd like to ask those who say PS3 doesnt have MUST-OWN titles while 360 does, to name me 10 of these Killer (must-have) titles on 360 cause I can only think of 2 series of games which are Halo& Geow which people like and sold well.. (Not much either if you ask me..)

Well i bought my xbox 360 when it first dropped even though i had to wait till march to finally get one (stupid blackout period) but i bought a ps3 2 years later for $300 (60 gig) when i got my hdtv. The problem i have always had with the ps3 is that updates take to dam long to download and it really didnt have any content till about '08. But the reason why in my opinon why no one buys games for the ps3 is because it was marketed as a blu-ray player. Look at the bundles when they took out BC they included spider-man 3 and when it really first dropped it included the ballad of ricky bobby. But my real gripe is because the xbox 360 games looked and ran better than the ps3 counter parts. Your game should not look inferior to the lower costing console EVER.

But Halo DO bring out the casuals, the fanboyz, the main stream in droves and "force" them to buy a X360 in order to play it!

Halo, GeoW, Mario Kart and Wii Fit has one thing in common, they are all system sellers, just one, just ONE of those games can get people panties in a bunch and then have them running out just to buy the console to BUY one game!

PS3 don't have anything CLOSE to that kind of game (unlike PS2, which had PLENTY last gen). MGS 4 is the only game that came close but even then, it sold only to an established fanbase but didn't gather new fans in like GeoW or Wii Fit/Mario Kart did. This is what the PS3 despriately need right now...Price drop will work only so long. And even then at $300 after 3 years, it's still TOO expensive for the mass market.......The only thing that can carry it is compelling SYSTEM SELLING software...No one deny Ps3 got some awesome games...But there is also a reason why those game are only selling :so-so" on the platform!

Yes it will, it's library is improving at a faster rate than the 360's, and soon the slim and some great gameswill help boost sales.

That's the BIIIIGGGG problem for the PS3 right now.....

When it comes to X360, I need to get: GeoW, GeoW2, Dead Rising, Halo 3, Halo: ODST, Mass Effect etc.

For the Wii: SMG, SMG2, NSMB: Wii, SSBB, NMH, LKS, Mario Kart, Tiger Wood 10, Wii Sport Resort etc, etc, etc,....

The only game on the PS3 that will make gamers go, "Wow, I gotta buy the console to play the game is" MGS 4...And since I'm not that big of a MGS fan....

The only games on the PS3 that I want was FFXIII and GTA. And since both are now X360.....

So what is left for me is just GoW3....Not a big fan of GT.....So yeah, for me, PS3 need to hit $200 for me! GoW 3 don't cut it at $300
