Yes it can, but I don't know if it will. Microsoft press conference wasn't really that impressive. I was chatting with my cousin while watching it and half of the show we were saying "dumb" "don't care". The first part was nice. Middle was horrible. End was decent. Well the FF13 announcment was huge and I dont know how they can top that. Insted of that nothing els much to beat. The new dashbord is pretty neat too.

I didn't really think Microsofts conference was as great as everyone seems to think. They dropped the megaton at the end of their show, but they also completely F'd up their "dashboard" which, for me, killed their conference.

Seriously I think the new dashboard is terrible. Bring back the Blades, but keep the LIVE Party and Primetime. I don't want that avatar crap (that goes for you too, Sony and Nintendo) or that ugly interface.

Sony can easily combat this. God Of War 3, Heavy Rain, inFamous, Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and Wardevil showings would do it for me.

How to beat the Microsoft Conference:

Step 1: Announce a new game preferably a new IP as well

Step 2: Give Home a release date

Step 3: Show off the cool new features and then date all other titles that are being anticipated (LBP, Killzone 2 etc.)

if bungie announces that..E3 2008 will forever gone down in gaming history as the best E3 for microsoft.

No remake of any game, ever, will be that big of a deal. People here complain that they should stop make sequels of Halo, or milking Mario, MGS, or even FF, or even GT. Sure, if they anounce killer new games.

The 360 press conference only showed off games we already knnew about and the new live update. The only reason it was so important was because FFXIII was anounced as a 360 game. While thats a very big thing, it could be eclipsed by a few big games if they happen. Somthing like Kingdom Hearts III(if it were exclusive), God of War 3 and a third big title.

If they announce FF7 and it's coming out soon, then the show is theirs. But I highly doubt that will happen.

I like some of the other stuff they announced, but the one that hit hard was FFXIII. Bungie is supposed to have a major announcement to counter Sony's press conference. But, who knows. I think that Sony needs to announce a downloadable PSone version of FFVII. That would be awesome too.

Overall the MS Press Conference was mediocre, but the last 2 minutes is what saved it. Ye I think Sony could beat it. EVOLV3

That other stuff was cool, Gears, Fable, RE5, and Fallout, but it's nothing new and half was multiplat.

FF has always been my favorite Sony franchise. I really can't see any announcement trumping that one. I myself also found the Netflix thing pretty exciting as is the Fallout 3 exclusive content.

The only thing Sony could do to 1up the MS conference imo, is to announce a new major rpg (KoTOR III), or a Dragon's Age, or Diablo III console exclusive rights.

Are you kidding? Sony has about 7-8 exclusives lined up to be talked about at the press conference. They have it in the bag.

M$ press conference was par. I'm sure all the lemmings liked it b/c they peed them selves when they announced ff for the 360. But from a gamer's stand point it was complete trash. They only had one exclusive. They spent about 5 minutes on it.

And who said the Bungie game will be for 360? They broke away from them for some reason.
