If you look at the UC4 open public beta, you have no choice other than to admit the console specs this gen suck the big one.

.. I think they are perfectly fine.. Games like Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne for instance are not going to be suddenly made more enjoyable because they can make the game shinier.... Graphics are not everything.. Terraria and Minecraft are megahits with rudimentary graphics.. What annoys the hell out of me about these systems are how closed they are and how many features they stripped from it..
I'll stick with my gimped day one PS4. I don't own a 4kTV so what's the point of upgrading to ps Neo? I'll upgrade to a Ps5 before I go the Neo route.
So bad that both Microsoft and Sony are planning new versions of their respective consoles with higher specs.
I'm not really sure what the TC was expecting from a $300-400 console? I feel I got what I paid for. I play games not specs.

XBox 360's GPU chip area size = ~180 mm^2
XBox One's GPU chip area size = ~160 mm^2
PS3's GPU chip area size = ~258 mm^2
PS4's GPU chip area size = ~212 mm^2
PS4 NEO's GPU chip area size = ~232 mm^2 (Polaris 10)
Have you notice the pattern?
Both Sony and Microsoft removed IBM CPU IP which resulted into profitability or break even with console hardware..
The first extra large size PC GPU with 185 watts is 8800 GTX with chip area size of 484 mm^2.
ATI's X1950 XTX has a chip size of 230 mm^2 with 125 watts, which enables Xbox 360 to rival it's performance.
8800 GTX's 484 mm^2 chip size and 185 watts was simply untouchable from game console's TDP and cost.
