Believe it
Launch 2005 console Died in a week
Sent in for repair
1. Got it back, lasted till 2007 and then red ringed again
2. Purchased the Elite, lasted 3.5 years then red ringed
3 and 4. Purchased a Slim had audio dropping over HDMI, exchanged in store for new one
Lasted 2.5 years and the HDMI went out completely
5 and 6. Bought a new Slim Arcade, died after 5 days of use, exchanged at Best Buy
7. Worked for 3 months and died, had it exchanged through geeksquad
8. Then the HDMI on this one died again.
seriously, I have had the worst luck with the Crapbox 360. And don't start trying to say I must have not taken care of it, it sits on an open glass shelf next to my TV and if I move it into another room it goes in the TV stands doorless cabinet thats atlest 2 feet wide, 2.5 feet deep and 2 feet wide, it's a nice square.
Meanwhile, I have had 2 PS3's (the original launch model died of YLOD within the first week, sony exchanged with a brand new one) Technically 3 because I purchased the Slim and moved my 60gb one upstairs so I had a blu ray player too and it had the benefit of playing some games while in bed. And one Wii.
To also add, I have had 1 DS, 1 DS lite, 1 3DS, 1 XL, 1 PSP 1000, 1 PSP 2000, 1 PS Vita so far too. Only reason for getting newer ones was to upgrade to better hardware, none of them ever died, ever had scratches.
When all my other systems have had such low failure rates and the 360 was really high, I blame MS for it's CRAPPY hardware. I just stopped playing games with my friends on 360, told them they can play with me on PC or PS3 and I'm not dumping more money on MS.
I'm sure you've been through ten consoles this generation  I've had 14 PS3's die on me.Whatever, don't believe me. I have even numbered them for you too. You think I'm trolling you, but I'm not
