How do you go from 150 million domination to losing tons of money and languishing in third place. How?! Even when Microsoft had their early troubles, Sony still couldn't take advantage of that. Remember when cows said PS3 would outsell 360 in the first year. 4 years later, still in 3rd place. Can they come back? Who knows? But Sony really messed up this gen.

Sometimes don't you just sit back and look at the big picture once in a while. That's what I did.

Three things to say.

1. It may be third, but I'm still enjoying the heck out of it regardless, which is all that matters to me. Their place in the market has no direct bearing on my enjoyment of their products.

2. Sony fanboys need to shut up now. You kept saying, "wait till next year." Half a decade has passed. PS3 was the most unpopular from Day 1, right out the gate. It's a fact I have no problem accepting as reality. Do the same. You'll give me less headaches.

3. The world goes round and round. There are ups, there are downs. Nintendo dominated the industry before. Sony came in, took the spot. Nintendo fell down to a struggling last. Sony dominated the industry after. Nintendo came in, slapped them in the face. Nintendo again dominates the industry. Sony is now struggling, in last place. Apple has been sanctioned as the greatest "come-back kid." Their shares rose a literal $200 per share in just a few years. Microsoft's shares fell just as dramatically. Do you see the point I'm making here? This is normal. Just like in everyday social life, your popularity fades and expands. Just as we have bad days and good ones, the same applies to companies, though drawn out through fiscal years. It's natural, it's been happening, and I'd be DAMNED surprised if it didn't occur at all between any companies in competition with each other. It's just as natural as life and death.

So if you're a fanboy that's going to stomp all over PS3 owners right now because of their current spot, I hope you're prepared to eat your own words in the near future, because there will always be ups and downs.

No, it turns out this is the exact same type of thread from 3 years ago when the PS3 launched a year after the 360 with a $600 pricetag. :(

Did the PLAYSTATION BRAND take a beating in sales? Yes, but at the cost of making BLU-RAY the defacto standard of HD Movie Goodness. That was a Sony decision, right or wrong, that's that.

We get the lower sales, but I'm all about the ACTUAL GAMES, my main man! I don't know if you noticed reading those sales charts, but in just measly ol' 2010 the PS3 has been delivering games for us to play!:P Sure, 2008 and 2009 were amazing game years, especially for PS3, but as a GAMER and not a Sales Analyst, I'm pretty impressed!

Besides sweet multiplats like Battlefield BC2, Bioshock, et cetera...check out these exclusives gamers are playing in 2010 :

well just look at the guy who does tv commercials for them - Peyton Manning

they pulled a Peyton Manning, dominate for awhile then when the competition really steps up when it counts, choke HARD

you have to at least give them credit for slowly digging themselves out of a deep hole, but Sony choked so hard with the launch of the PSP and PS3 it's ridiculous

Losing all those exclusives (GTAIV, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry, Tekken 6, Final Fantasy XIII, Ace Combat, Guitar Hero, WWE SD vs. RAW, and so many more), $599 price point, expensive for too long, delaying games all the time (seriously seems like every PS3 has been delayed by at least a year), releasing a year ahead of the Xbox 360..... Sony shot itself in the foot with teh Cellz and Blu-ray.

sony is working on copying it -matt from ign has already said it feels like most of the first gen efforts on the wii -thus it cant be good

so dont even claim ps was mighty ,they always end up behind in technology then now its sales,
