Anyone who thinks the PS3 is going to catch up to the 360 is completely delusional. If winning the format war and games like Uncharted 2 isn't going to do it I am pretty sure nothing will other than Microsoft literally stopping production of the Xbox 360.

if ps3 could take the lead from 8 million to 5 million in just a matter of months due to the slim yes ps3 can overtake the 360.

you come to tell me if PS3 goes to $199 it won't take the lead :D

Second, Microsoft is in the position for price cuts not Sony. Microsoft is actually earning a profit on each 360 sold.

360 had a 9 million lead, PS3 has that down to less than 5 million now. I expect PS3 to outsell 360 completely by this time next year, especially considering GT5 is coming out

Once again, I gave you proof.....

according to generally accepted WW counts, the gap is somewhere in the 5-6 million range currently. the 360 had a 8 million head start which implies that the ps3 has gained 2-3 million on 360 since the ps3 launch. you can make a good argument that 2-3 mil over 3 1/2 years isn't really fast enough. you could also imply that due to the slow sales at the beginning of the ps3's life, that the 2-3 million gain has happened in he last 2 or so years as opposed to uniforming since launch.

but even with that, ps3 is only closing the gap by around a million a year and there's no reason to believe that it will continue just because its been the case the past 2 years. ps3 won't see another price drop for at least 1 year with it probably only being an incremental $50.

Xbox has more room to drop and it probably will this holiday with ps3 holding to its current price.

quality wise move will most likely give natal and the wiimote a run for their money, but sales wise (which is what the discussion was about) I think it will stay in third place.

Also, I'm not so sure, MS makes as much profit as you may think.

RROD is still costly to this day and there is no real end in sight. Each time a unit breaks, and sometimes several times for many people, that cost to fix said unit goes into the average cost of manufacture.

Because of all the defective rates, It isn't all hunky dory like many may think.

Just because Sony is in 3rd, doesn't mean they're not doing good. I'm no expert, but to me, all 3 have been very successful this gen. CR00K

Microsoft is the blue line.

Sony is green line.

The market on average is the red line.

... and nintendo is the line way above the other 2 thats gained over 200%.

sony stock is the loser of these 4. the market's a loser too, but not near as much.

it probably doesn't suck to be him unless he bought in january 08 and sold around spring of 09.
