so now that Masachika Kawata and other developers from capcom openly admit that resident evil umbrella chronicles had to be made easier due to the wiimotes limitations.....does that give anyone pause as the the legitimacy of the wii as a "gamers system" ??

"Kawata says that during the initial stages of development, Umbrella Chronicles was similar to RE 4, but that play system was too complicated for the hardware and its customers. Capcom had to make the game easier because Wii users like things simple"

first were told it was designed with our "moms" in mind....

almost 95 % of the games are either bad and simplified ports of last gen games, or warioware style games.

now you can argue this all you want....but the nintendo curse is rearing its ugly head. the Wii shot out the gate thats for sure.....but so did the gamecube and the n64, the Wii has a large percentage of ports....just like the GC and n64....

Yeah, because Resident Evil games don't have a "hard" mode. It's not like RE games are exactly "easy" anyways. Dry your eyes, mate.

thats the only argument you sheep have these days.

The Wii might have good sales, but that doesn't change the fact that it only has mediocre mini-games. I think you're just jealous that we 360/Ps3(and eventually pc) gamers are getting the TRUE Resident evil game RE5....

Wow TC, good job in distorting the truth by changing the quotes. Here's what was actually said in the link the TC provided:

Capcom producer Masachika Kawata and director Yasuhiro Seto sit down for a video interview to delve deeper into the design concept of Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii. They both basically guaranteed that Umbrella Chronicles will be a cloth apart from the previous installments of the franchise. For one, UC is an FPS. As to why they made it such, they explained that initially, it was supposed to be like RE4. However, having seen that it would make the game too complicated to enjoy on the Wii, they opted to develop it differently from the "over the shoulder" gameplay from RE4. Director Seto defends the Wii and says that "you can easily experience shooting and horror in Wii", and that in fact, there is "greater horror and reality achieved successfully on Wii". Anyway, the duo goes on to talk more about the game, such as why they opted for a title change for the Japanese version. To find out more what these masters behind Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles have to say, feel free to check out the video below.

I watched the video and he said (well from the traduction) that RE4 controls were too complicated for Wii users which is kinda bad news through.

He didnt mention Wiimote neither hardware limitations.

Sounds to me like Capcom made it easier for the users, not simpler because of hardware.

Taken way out of context.  The quote says that Wii owners like things simplier.  So Capcom is telling Wii owners what they like, NOT that the system or remote limits development in any way.  /thread

They made this decision before they even KNEW who the users would be, I'll bet you.  So, they "knew" who the Wii users would be before the Wii users even existed.

I'm interested in RE5. I won't lie about that. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in RE: UC either. Both look like good games and eventually I'll be able to play both as soon as there's a price drop for PS3 or 360.

The Wii is selling. Get over it.

thats the only argument you sheep have these days.

The Wii might have good sales, but that doesn't change the fact that it only has mediocre mini-games. I think you're just jealous that we 360/Ps3(and eventually pc) gamers are getting the TRUE Resident evil game RE5....

-Looking at my own reviews of God of War and Halo 2-

I'm a sheep?

Whoa whoa, I'm with Liquid here, I own a 360 as well but who can deny the Wii's success? Not me, not you either. As mediocre mini games, have you seen the line-up it offers? Oh wait I forgot Zelda, Mario, SSBB, MP3, SPM they're all mini-games aren't they?? How silly of me to think the Wii was a good console in fact I'm just nipping off to trade it in for another 360.

[QUOTE="Zhengi"]Wow TC, good job in distorting the truth by changing the quotes.

To find out more what these masters behind Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles have to say, feel free to check out the video below.venture00

Who are you fooling??!! Really, would you not rather have the true resident evil sequel instead of a on-rails shooter spin-off game?? Why would you be interested in UC an NOT in RE5, thats impossible.....

Zhengi

What's wrong with on-rails shooters? I'm hoping the Wii gets House of the Dead. But in the meantime, I'm going to look forward to RE: UC. The game looks interesting and fun.

Thats not the point! my point is: how can anyone be interested in Re:UC and not RE5?? Re5 is the main series isn't it?

I'm interested in RE5. I won't lie about that. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in RE: UC either. Both look like good games and eventually I'll be able to play both as soon as there's a price drop for PS3 or 360.

I dunno man, Capcom gave the 360 two awesome new IP's. They looked at the Wii and said "Ummm..remake..and rail shooter." How is that anything to get excited about?  Plus RE spin offs don't have the best reputation for being so good.

They started to make it like Res Evil 4 but decided it was too complicated? Yet they are actually making Res Evil 4 for it?

 Weird.

y would they be jelouse if most of them r under the age of 13 ?

And what is your age then?
Your age r older then 13?
And of course I would prefer RE5 for the RE fans that are using the Wii.
Myself... I'm not really interested in RE:UC nor in RE5 if it would be on the Wii.
I bought this system because my favorite franchises are on it.

maybe it means the RE4 gameplay mechanics doesnt suit RE:UC since its revisiting the old REs or i dunno. Its really weird though.

The Wii is getting a new IP from Capcom. Treasure Island Project Z looks interesting. I love point and click games and this one is on top of my list. I hope it's as good as it looks. As for the RE: UC, this is not a spin off. It's actually part of the main series because the story in RE: UC will be used to tie in the stories of RE 0-4 and Code Veronica.

You dont know what UC is all about do you? It completely explains the story behind umbrella corp and how the company fell cuz it wasnt explained in the previous REs what really happened. In this game all will be explained clearly. This means its tied in the main series. All characters from 0,1 and 3 are in the game as well.

CVX never had a no. does that mean it's not part of the storyline? UC isn't a spin off Dead Aim, RE: Outbreak 1 & 2 they were spin off's cos' there wasn't an actual proper RE character involved. UC has Chris already making it part of the timeline.

He's making the game easier because of a limitation in wii-users brains not in the wii-mote.

An RE game is still going to appeal to a certain group of wii user. Just because granny and little billy play wii doesnt mean they are going to have to dumb down every wii game so they can play it too.
