If you really want to be technical, maybe but it still came out after Code Veronica either way, it originally being for the N64 doesn't cancel that out and REmake might as well be a new RE considering how awesome it is.
Plus Code Veronica is the most overrated RE game by far and this is coming from a long time fan.
Edit- Also your original post didn't say anything about the game having to be new at first so can't blame the guy with responding with REmake. All it said was "last true RE game" which is false no matter what...

I like a new Outbreak, but with some reworking.ArisShadows
This.I felt outbreak came out in the wrong geniration. Now that online is much better on all platforms it could be something special.
i just want them to go back to their roots, small corridors with dangeroues zombies ( yes dangerous, not 1 bullet kill a dozen) and great music with weird monsters chasing you.
Krelian-co
Also no gun toating monsters/people. Just keep it monsters guys.

I agree. Some reworking of the controls and online structure, I think it would be great forming a group of other person with various strengths and weaknesses. Working together, communicating with each other. Maybe add in some sort of random element to keep the stages fresh each time, with various differculties like the previous. I like the so called infection percent.
Playable monsters would be nice. :)I know that I'm going to be in the way minority in this, but I'm someone who actually enjoyed a lot of RE6. It was very flawed overall, but there were a ton of reddeming factors and moments. So I made due and still really enjoyed it on its own merits.
That being said.......PLEEEEEEEEASE don't tease us Capcom! Make this be as true as we all really want it to be!
They're full of shit.
Not that I care anyways because I'm more interested in the Next Amnesia and The Evil Within.
Look at all the whining from these gamers. It makes me sick. :( Mr_Cumberdalebetter stay away then... no body will miss you

franchise turned into shit after part 3 sure ripping off tomb raider perspective was cool but they turned everything into trash from game direction never recouped.
resident evil code veronica was okay but felt dated at the time except for the first person parts

I think you need to start reading what you type because none of it makes any sense.

You need to start learning how to comprehend shit.resident evil 3 the fixed camera angle wasnt too dated, but by dreamcast era fixed camera angles felt really dated after playing blue stinger with resident evil code veronica the first person view parts were cool though didnt feel dated in that.
by resident evil 4 they finally decided to rip off tomb raider and blue stringer 3rd person view but they changed the art direction of everything and the series has been garbage ever since.

You need to start learning how to comprehend shit. You need to start typing actual sentences and saying things that actually make sense first. Even ignoring the fact that all of your posts are rambling bullshit non-sentences, what you're saying genuinely makes no sense.
RE6 had potential. The first half of leons campaign actually felt tense due to the lack of ammo and health items, you were constantly overwhelmend by zombies. Stringerboy
You have plenty of ammo and can basically annihilate everything you run into though. "Tense" isn't the word I would use to describe it. The beginning of that campaign is ridiculously boring though, with that long forced walking segment that has absolutely nothing happening.

You need to start not being a noob, like you actually played resident evil in 1996 is this the year u were born?i never have problems with fixed cameras in RE 1 2 3... they force you to view the characters at different angles instead of seeing just the back part. it make movements and encounters more cinematic and tense. surprises are more upclose and effective. todays third person over the shoulder view is more annoying than a fix cam third person. you know this, when a large character with large weapon (Minigun in RE5 for example) obscure the whole screen. thats worst than a fix cam. In RE 3 jill with mounted gatling gun look awesome as you can view her at different angles. chases looks tense because you can glimpse back at nemesis running after you.franchise turned into shit after part 3 sure ripping off tomb raider perspective was cool but they turned everything into trash from game direction never recouped.

Did someone switch the meanings of underrated and overrated and not tell me?
If you wanna talk overrated RE games, there's only one game you need to look to.
RE6 had potential. The first half of leons campaign actually felt tense due to the lack of ammo and health items, you were constantly overwhelmend by zombies. Now if they can make a whole game out of that in RE7, as well as getting rid of the manadatory co-op partners it would be awesome.
Stringerboy
The limited ammo in leon's campaign was pointless seeing how you can just simply press the "awesome button" and Judo chop/body slam zombies left and right.

That was semi-limited aswell and by getting in close you risk getting chewed on.
it's good to see capcom moving in the right direction on this one.http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/capcom-resident-evil-6-felt-bloated-resident-evil-7-will-return-to-survival-horror-roots/0120229
Resident Evil 2 is my favorite RE game.strawhatlupiRE2 experience is 100x better than that checkpoint arcade game RE4. RE4 started the decline of the RE franchisei agree 100%. you nailed it.
RE will NEVER return to it's roots.. Too much time has passed and the current gaming crowd would probably not accept such a drastic "change" to their series.
My guess? They'll limit the playable characters (in the single player campaign) to 2 people. They'll still have scripted action/quick time events.. but they'll mask it under some "new" game machanic. It'll look gorgous.. which I guess is something.

I had no problem spamming melee and even when stamina did run out...I simply just popped a green herb capsule or ran around and let Helena clean house while the stamina bar replenished. add the Survival Knife to the mix and a player is more than capable of cheesing their way through the Zombie sections.
But hey, if you wanna pretend that RE6 is some ideal Survival Horror experience that requires strategy and careful planning ...knock yourself out.
Resident Evil 6 was a great B-movie. I'm so sick of these people trying to make out it was Citizen Kane. Go back and actually play them.
Oh, yeah. Anyway, Revelations was more horrory, so maybe this time it'll happen.Like this?
