I dunno if this is the right place to do this, but Casey would you kindly just deal with the spammer in the threads below and let the place continue as usual?

Hry casey i know this is off topic but how much do you get paid for sitting around these forums all day, if you dont mind me asking iamjust curious...-Melix-
you think that's what we do? :?
Why is saying this and quoting a post a cause for moderation. Let's say someone asks about funniest lines you heard in a game. Someone mentioned a game line which I too was going to mentioned. How is is just quiting the post and saying this is any worse than copying the whole line again ? To me just saying "this" looks better as it's gives a better view that many people agree with this quote, takes less resources etcnaval
because it's a one word answer that doesn't add anything to the discussion. surely you can come up with more than just saying "this".

I am taking my example again, the topic is what's the funniest line you have heard in a game --- as far as I see saying "this" or "i think so too" and just copying the funniest line again, both have the same affect to the discussion, doesn't it ?[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"][QUOTE="naval"]Why is saying this and quoting a post a cause for moderation. topics are for discussion. if you agree with what somebody says, say why.
Hey Casey, a few questions:
First off, when you said it's never been okay to make a new topic and only post a news link in it -- what would that be deemed as, disruptive posting?
Secondly, say someone calls him(and/or her)self a fanboy by using one of the terms associated to the fanboys and does so rather enthusiastically (ex: wow, it's a great time to be a hermit); if one were to reiterate what the user said, and said, "So, it's great to be a fanboy?" Would that warrant a moderation? If so, why? (What if there's other wording in the post besides that example so it's not entirely focused on the reiterating the fanboy part?)
Thanks,
Steve-o

1. yep. disruptive posting.
2. that should be okay if it's worded like that. just don't turn it into further insult.
How is offensive material judged? If someone reports something offensive, like a picture of a duck in pond because they don't like ducks can you be moderated for that?
Espada12
moderator's discretion for the most part.
How come a topic of mine was deleted without me being notified?

check the "ask the mods' forum.
Hey, are the "*gives flameshield* X fanboys gonna come after you" comment allowed? If so, they shouldn't be. I just find them annoying for the most part, and they add nothing to the discussion.Next-Gen-Tec
they are not. since flaming isn't allowed here anyway, saying something like that would only encourage something that's not allowed.
