Strong sales considering its only been out for over a month. I think it will hit 10 million in its lifetime. Also, people are milking the review scores so badly its not even funny. Why is everyone making out like GT5 is a huge flop? It isn't.

Yes it didn't meet the hype but only because people hyped it so much it was impossible to meet. Why does it always have to be huge success or huge flop with SW? I swear you fanboys just go from one extreme to the other, try and find the middle ground. The most important thing about GT5 is the gameplay and driving experience, which is still the best, even the GS review said it.

Good for PD, they deserve it. Got the game for Christmas and a G27 wheel, and have had a blast playing the game. I think the only reason I'm not dissapointed is because I wasn't as hyped as other people. Plus I've barely played Forza so GT5 is my first "sim" racer. If you're playing this game with a controller, you're doing it wrong ;)

Nah its just that SWs members always hate the good and successful things (3DS, Kinect, CoD, Wii..etc) look at all the 3DS threads its full of hate for the system though no one tried it yet lol.

I must say that this comment is objective criticism and a very fair point. I think GT5 is a fun game, but these points are undeniable.

It's the largest racing franchise on console is it not, why are we supposed to be impressed? Are Halo Numbers still impressive? I don't think so ... ODST sold tons and was an expansion.

When it's as good a game as Forza I'll be impressed.

He didn't actually say it was going to be perfect, he said he is a perfectionist, other developers say that but obviously there must be compromises. If Kaz had his choice I honestly think GT5 would still be in production for another entire year at least. Its obvious they were pushed into releasing it and I understand when people say they had enough time. However, one must understand that PD aren't a huge team and the game was rebuilt from scratch for the PS3. Anyone that says its GT4 HD is just being ignorant.

The main reason people say GT5 flopped is because of the standard cars, thats the MAIN reason. Yes, the standard cars are a flop there is no denying it. BUT, the gameplay is tuned to perfection and the driving experience is the best, even the reviews that bashed the game admitted that. I'm not saying GT5 didn't have short comings, it definitely did. However to dismiss it is as rubbish and a huge flop is stupid and unfair. Its still a great game and the it deserves its metacritic score.

Outside in the real world 84 is a solid score, not perfect but good none the less. Anyone that hyped it as 10/10 were simply asking to be disappointed.

Will people stop calling it's physics perfect? They're far from. The driving experiance is ebat by several PC racing Sims, and beat quite badly too.

GT is a good console sim, it's not better then RacePro. It's a better game then RacePro though.

Neither GT not Forza can hold a candle to the REAL racing sims on PC, so why are we pretending they do? They can't even beat RacePro

I don't play the hype game, nor do I spend a lot of time in SW, but prior to the release of GT 5 I would have said "it's the last racing game you will ever need to buy". Thus, I would have implied a state of near perfection for the game. I was so disappointed. I still enjoy the game, I didn't run to trade it in, nor will I, but it's a failure to me.

The fact of the matter is, claiming GT has perfect physics brings into relevence other racing sims. It just so happens that the PC has FAR superior racing sims.

The Xbox 360has Race Pro which a superior racing sim.

What are you talking about? He's clearly outlining that if the physics are perfect, how then can certain games have better physics. If those games are on the PC, then i'd say it's relevant to the point to include that.

I would say that GT 5 is the main game in the series. Longest development time and on the current generation system. Really, if you look at the last two GT releases, not even counting GT PSP, it's not longer a AAA franchise.
