Yeah, it LOOKS amazing. But Ive seen a bunch of games that look great and play like... well, crap.

I know its Final Fantasy but S-E has been off their game lately. We MAY be in for an unpleasant surprise.

It's got the same qualities as all Final Fantasies: great FMV, decent sound, mediocre gameplay, brain dead battle system, anime/JRPG cliches, androgynous "boys". All in all, I'll rent it and enjoy it .. but sreiously, with all the WRPGs that have obliterated the JRPG, why hype one of the worst of the JRPG series?

Please educate yourself on FFXIII. The gameplay in this title will be the most difficult and involved thus far. There's a massive overhaul to the FF battle system in this one.

The plot is pretty original. Care to name another game or anime with a similar plot setup?

I want to know what he thinks is better. There are better JRPGs, but most JRPGs are either on FF's level in thinks like battle system or are below it in terms of things like story and sound.

It has been well documented that this will be the most difficult Final Fantasy thus far. That's why "auto heal" after battles is being used. Keeping up your health over a span of moderately easy fights is not "difficulty," and that's why it's been done away with for more difficult battles. If you don't appropriately strategize you will die in FFXIII. The same was true of gameplay in Xenosaga Ep. II and Ep. III which they seem to have taken some inspiration from. Because of the increased difficulty, you don't go back to save points at game over anymore though. You restart the battle and do it again.

Personally the FF soundtrack lost a bit of it's touch when Nobuo split off and made his own music company, I'm glad to see he throws down with SE still sometimes.Jynxzor

With the exception of II, III, VII and XII I love and have every FF OST on my MP3. They are all, indeed, fantastic. Im not entirely feeling XIIIs so far. Its.... meh. The battle theme is fantastic though.

It certainly wouldnt be a HUGE drawback, but yeah, some of the cutscenes looked very cheesy. Idk, as long as there isnt horrendous VA I couldnt care less how cheezy it gets.
