[QUOTE="InsaneBasura"]Bragging about the graphics in a tech demo seems kinda silly to me. And sure that ship looks ridiculous, but it's just one ship in a bunch of nothingness. Like I said, it's a tech demo. No different than the Molina head.
Show me an actual game with those visuals, then I'll be impressed.

That's a weird looking spaceship. Looks an awful lot like a jungle from Crysis, which I've played on my E6850, 4GB, 8800GTX PC. That PC games can't look impressive wasn't my point mr smartypants. I find it pointless to get excited about pretty visuals in benchmarks/tech demos. Especially those which show off singular objects. Like the aforementioned Moilna head, and this. Which probably also runs at a crap framerate on any hardware currently available.

This generation of console and especially PC games has really spoiled me when it comes to graphics. Reallllly spoiled me. I have big expectations out of next-gen, superior to what we're seeing in these pics.
The thing is, most graphical improvements that we'll see in the future will come from things like more advanced physics and animation, rather than things that are immediately visible.
The single biggest graphical change between last gen and this gen is probably lighting, which is very noticeable in pics. Lighting in general is far more advanced now and this is obvious in basically every game of this gen, even the horrible ones. And while I do expect an obvious bump in stuff like lighting and textures next-gen, I think the biggest improvements will be stuff we can't fully see in still pics.

Uh.. what? That's a picture of Crysis.
Color me unimpressed. I really don't know what to tell you. It looks pretty and all, but honestly, It doesn't look like anything consoles couldn't do, or at least come close to. unless I'm missing something? I mean, There is no doubt in my mind that the PC has far more capability of outputting hands down the best graphics, thats not in question here.Agree with you there. Pc's have better graphic cards and all but ps3 still has its processor. The image looks not that impresive to me.
But this benchmark leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes. The those Intel makes 64 bit processors, including the one you have. Also, your specs are meaningless without showing your video card. Do this... go to Start->Run, type "dxdiag" and take a screenshot of the System and Display tabs. What you screenshotted means nothing.
This is the last pic I take and if you don't believe me from now I don't care. As far as the truth goes hermits are the biggest at stretching the truth followed by the cows. Also hermits act very anal on here and I'm just not in to that crap. This board is for amusement purposes , not for downgrading people's lives or the system/computer they play their games on. Call me a lemming, a fanboy or a troll, I don't care and it is meaningless to me.

That's laughable considering the consoles stutter on games like Mass Effect and such.

Mass effect has something called an enviorment. The tech demo showed a ship and nothing more. I'm sure consoles could handle that much.
Besides, it's not all about the graphics. It's all about the fun when it comes to video games.

With how many dynamic lights and considering that ship is downright massive, I'm pretty sure it's ahead of Mass Effect tech wise.
And yes, I know it's a tech demo, but I wasn't talking about gameplay, was I?

Why arey ou running 32bit Vista, when you have a 64 bit procesor? The 32bit version is a lot less supported then the 64 bit version, specifically considering most peope have 64bit processors now adays. It is also rather odd you are using 3 gigs of ram, since it means you have 3 sticks of memory. This is actually counterproductive, since even though you have more ram, your are causing bandwidth issues since DDR ram works in pairs. You should probably throw in your video card panel as well.
I assume you bought this computer instead of putting it together?

Dude haven't you played Bioshock? Its a jungle in the spaceship to provide oxygen through the rest of it.That sounds like a load of hokey. Couldn't they just hold their breath instead? Seems like the smarter solution to me. If you don't breathe you don't consume any oxygen. And David Blaine holds his breath all the time and he got to possess magical powers. My logic is rock solid. And also, the space station in Sunshine did that jungle thing and everyone died, so it's not a smart idea at all. Unless you want everyone to die and not possess magical powers.

Unless you asked for a pic of a game with a spaceship that looks that good, then I have no idea what the heck you're talking about.

What a nerdy answer and that is why even though I play PC games(Crysis, The Witcher, and STALKER) I refuse to be part of your little click cause you act like know it alls or something. Playing computer games don't make you any smarter than console ones.
Did I say it "PC gaming makes people smarter"I said that 'hermits' know that there will be better visuals than Crysis, as PC visuals are always progressing rapidly.
IF my answer was 'nerd'y, then im sure yours is ignorant, short sighted and just plain idiotic.

It's hiding in the grass. Perhaps you can see it if you turn your head sideways and squint.
If I actually got you to do that I deserve some sort of award. A cookie would suffice.
PC gaming is fun, but really I just don't think it compares to sitting on a couch with your mates and beers.. Keyboard and Mouse too.. =\
I just can't really see the appeal in sitting by yourself the whole time in front of the PC..

Neat.....but I could care less.....I gave up on PC gaming. Why? Cause its a bottomless money pit. You upgrade, and bam less than six months later you have to upgrade, not to mention crashes, bugs, and what not. My friends Dell XPS that he shelled out $2K for just bit the dust for the second time. Yeah......I miss those days...not
You don't have to upgrade, you upgrade of your own volition to have the highest graphics, which isn't required by any stretch of the imagination. Not to mention that bugs and crashes are fairly rare nowadays, and you're getting those on consoles as well. My PC cost me 650 bucks and its more pwoerful than the 360 was. (This was when the 360 cost 399). To this date I've spent more money on my 360 despite owning more games for my PC>Neat.....but I could care less.....I gave up on PC gaming. Why? True, but what i like with consoles is no installations (at least most of the time, I have yet to have to install a game on the hard drive, but i hear its common on the ps3) and you always have the best graphics your gonna get (at least if you have a HDTV) no messing with upgrading video cards.

I don't understand console fanboy's hatred of installations. You put a disc in and push next a few times. It doesn't take much time and is extremely simple. Not to mention you don't have to keep track of CDs, and over time you save time thanks to this. Not to mention console's graphics are innately outdated anyway. Oh, and upgrading video cards is as easy as making toast,.

Btw, I doubt your average consumer knows how to install a vid card.

Clicking one button for 2 minutes isn't something the console gamer is used to? Oh please, its simple, quick, and efficient. And if your average consumer doesn't know how to install a graphics card he has two options. A) Take five minutes to learn, its simple. B) Take it to Best Buy.I never said i hated installations, its just one more thing you have to do. I can install video cards just fine, its just that when I was playing FPS games online, I have to have the best frame rate i can get. I got tired of dropping hundreds of dollars on video cards.

Thanks.
Seriously though, what are you guys going to tell me next? Water is wet?
looks great... but stop trolling with posts like this, obvious the PC is allowed technically upgrades every 6 months while consoles are only updated every 5 years... the next gen xbox, which statistically will be coming out for christmas of 2010 will have graphics of that level, im not in a rush to shell out $2000+ for a gaming rig that will depreciate at a rate of 60% a year.Bdking57You can buy a 650 dollar rig that will outperform and continue to outperform consoles for the duration of the generation. You upgrade of your own volition.

It something that never saved me time personally. I had my PC for 2 years. I went through 3 GeForce cards because of them getting outdated, or getting fried. My friend has gone through 2 motherboards and 2 Radeon cards in about 1 year. Tell me, how is that saving time and money? The only thing I really miss from PC is Ventrillo: heh....good times though xbox live has its funny moments too, and Clans. I was in numerous clans when i was playin on the PC but I have yet to join a single clan on xbl.

When you install a game upfront it usually takes about 5-10 minutes. With console games, when you switch out the disc, that can take anywhere between 30 seconds to 1 minute 20 seconds (for me). Multiply that exponentially over five years and you can see where I'm going here. You people were upgrading because of your own volition. I have had the same card for 2 years now, and its still playing the vast majority of the upcomming games perfectly fine in the high range, and it doesn't look I will be needing to upgrade any time soon.
Last time I checked, a lot of PC games require disks to run on top of installations. Even with full installations on some games, I still needed a disk, so thats not really a valid argument for me. Another thing, just because you haven't had problems with your video card or other components doesn't mean that everyone else hasn't either. xTreasonerx
When did you stop playing PC games? There are a lot of games which don't need disks, and others who do can easily be fixed through no-cd fixes.
Just because you've had a flawless 360 experience DEFINITELYdoesn't mean everybody else has. ;)

Problems with video cards isn't something thats happening in large numbers. Most likely its due to end user neglect more than anything. In other words, your own fault.
