He has said that at E3 as well. I think he was kind of tacking a jab at Halo and CoD because both of them still use P2P.

He is absolutely right. P2P sucks, far to many problems. Dedicated servers have always been the much superior way to host games. I don't know why console games haven't adapted the dedicated server business model.

I don't think its as bad as people say, like Halo, racing games. Halo 2 is what caused the drop of dedicated server support, as lots of games before it used it

Rare was having problems before MS got them. its not MS fault

cause no one else has army like spartans, which there aren't that many of them, halo you are not able to set of bases where ever...

you do know there still multiple servers for every game, that connects players to other players, hold information, track information.. every game goes through a server.

Live was the match maker on the xbox,so it live got kill what will connect the games.? Is the same with live on 360,the match making is done by XBL if MS kill it to make you move to the new console,what will connect you.?

Cool part about that developers can use their xbox's at the studio and they got faster isp than average home user to host dedicated servers also.

Perfect dark zero=optimatch which should be standard for all games which has the option to turn ur home console into dedicated server and developer at studio with faster connection can do samething. Halo 2 matchmaking ruined gaming, halo =16 players....PDZ=32...nuff said?

Dedicated servers are a great thing because at least people don't have to worry about host advantage anymore.

UC3 , R3, KZ3 all say hi , if anything it looks like PS3 exclusives are moving away from dedicted server. It's hard to justify the price tag with sad numbers of their online communities of there Multiplayer games. :(

dude, thats why i said MOST not ALL. thats one and two. tell me a couple of 360 exclusives that have dedicated servers?

actually Killzone 3 stll had dedicated servers....just worse then 2

Yeah, I much enjoyed KZ2 more. KZ3, while pretty, was a step backwards in my honest opinion. Great franchise though, just had such high expectations for KZ3 after the KZ2 entry.
