How is the gameplay outdated?
seriously asked that lol?
Like many reviewers say, paraphrased:
"Veterans of the series may not be interested because of the lack of groundbreaking new features, but you shouldn't sleep on the game. This latest addition to the decade old series offers a lot for vets and is a great entry point for newcomers. The advanced weaponry combined with the similar gunplay of previous COD surprisingly complement each other well and keeps the game fresh."
OK we know any review for a COD game is bull shit, but as you can see COD AW is basically the same game at its core and a jetpack won't change things. The purpose of the jetpack is primarily mobility aka get you from A-B quick as possible another form of running. Anyway, more importantly, a lot are pissed about having to pay $60 on a next gen game that uses a 10 year old engine.
If not having any groundbreaking new features means gameplay is outdated then every shooter has outdated gameplay then. BF has been doing basically the same thing since Bad Company, Counterstrike has been doing the same thing since the 90's and what groundbreaking new features has Halo recently had?
Many people would claim that games without sprinting, ironsites, prone and leveling are outdated.
I'm asking you why you think the gameplay is outdated.
The further we go the harder it is to add anything groundbreaking.
Jetpack is another form of running? LOL.
Actually the jetpack completely changes how the game plays and I would say this is one of if not the biggest changes a franchise has ever seen. It would be a good idea to have an over the top CoD like AW one year and then a traditional style CoD the next.
Actually the engine is based on the Quake 3 engine from 1999 but the game looks awesome and just as good as BF 4 imo.
