I love how when he peeks his head out for just half a second, the AI automatically starts firing at him rather than all of his AI teammates who are actually firing back.

I didn't say it was bad though I do think it's a pretty poopy game that only got noteriety because there was nothing else to play on the PS3 when it was released. It's basically the Perfect Dark Zero of the PS3.

What I meant is that only PS3 fanboys take it seriously as one of the premier FPS games. Liking it is one thing. Including it in a list with some of the most important FPS games is quite another.

So when an elitist hater decides to try his hardest at beating The First Level on the second hardest difficulty out of 4, and he tries his hardest and is the only person whose done this and is also and elitist biased jerk no one can love then it makes the entire game a terrible, terrible mess?

Ok, someone try that on Veteran or try any of the other levels on Hardened.

As much as I hate the stupid CoD love it gets from some people, the haters just have way too much free time and money to buy a game only to tell everyone how much they hate it and try their damned hardest to make it look bad, after being one of millions of people to buy it.

but here is the catch 22 of the whole situation. If you make the NPC squad mates so stupid that they cant shoot anything, everyone says "the team AI sucks and is useless and so not realistic". If you make it so the squad AI can actually hit and kill targets so you can play cheap and just stay in cover "oh the game is too easy and you dont even need to do anything".

possibly the dumbest thing i have ever heard, and i also dont go out of my way to defend black ops.... but my god this is one of the worst criticisms ive heard, ever.

I lose faith in people a little every time I see a thread or comment about CoD being the BEST GAME EVER. I swear, I posted people saying that as an exaggeration in another thread, but now it's actually being vocalized by others. They say it like they won't just drop the game around this time next year for the next annual CoD game. How capricious and hyped up some are. Also, BEST is subjective.

Thats definitely an overstatement, but as far as changes in CoD go its the biggest MP change in the series since CoD4 introduced about 80% of what CoD is known for now. Its a good game and a good package, but best game ever is not only a terrible and disrespectful thing to say when there are so many others truly deserving that title, but I'm pretty sure we'll hear the same thing about MW3 a year from now.

Treyarch was more trying to make the AI exist (at least more so then the useless allies from WaW), but strike a balance between useful and too useful. Most of the time I hear people complain about how the player seems to have some giant SHOOT ME sign that shows even if he is prone with a weak gun, facing the other way and doing nothing in the presence of credible, heavily armed threats as teammates. The video is odd in that its actually establishing the AI as too good, which might say something about MrBungle's skills since they rarely got any action when I was around :D

well i dunno about too good... there were alot of times where i ran up to the AI... only to realize there was an enemy right next to them that they completely ignored for whatever reason.

The problem is there is no real good balance... i mean you can make the AI teammates killable... but either you ruin the storyline when they die... or you have to keep the AI alive as they make stupid decisions and charge into battle which makes you want to punch every electronic device in front of you after watching the dumbass AI charge into battle and die 20 times in a row. AI just isnt good enough yet, in any game... to hit that perfect balance.

I think black ops has a good balance of usefulness/uselessness, all things considered. The only real alternative i can see is making the whole game a solo affair... which frankly, is just boring.... and removes the possibility of character development.

But honestly, until someone proves to me they can top the quake live instagib charts every single game.... shutup about skill, cause you dont have it :P

if black ops is to be faulted for anything.... this isnt the reason.

PS. for $60 this game is worth it's weight in gold x10 it has just unmatched value with it's amount of great content.

If you are going to enjoy any online gaming aspect of any given game, for an extended period of time, that makes it worth $60, imo. However, COD:BO just isn't that great of a game. I've always thought they nailed the control aspect, but the single player is EXTREMELY EASY--it feels as if my hand is being held the entire time and doesn't have one ounce of challenge...AAAAAANNNNNDDDD, the multiplayer flatout stinks.

Its a lot like COD4, but its not as fast paced or twitchy per say.... its more simple and balanced. Dont like it as much as cod4, but still pretty good.

Best ever? Well, I've had the game since launch, and have barely touched it. I think the excitement of COD has worn off me. The excitement for COD4 in 2007 isn't the same now. I started playing the SP on Veteran, and a bit off the MP, but it just doesn't pull me in like COD4 did. COD4 just did everything so right. The MP was a masterpiece (imo) The SP was memorable. I'll go ahead and say it's my favourite FPS of all time. Black ops, well not quite there, but still a solid FPS none the less.

Black Ops is just PACKED with the greatness.

Hmm long 10hr good story fun single player=CHECK!

Online multiplayer with great amount of maps and all good maps=CHECK!

Coop Nazi Zombies is freaking great fun and just awesome=CHECK!

Lets face it COD BO is a loaded game with top quality content. And yes the guns have more recoil now and the online is more balanced.

Nothing anyone can argue it is by far the greatest FPS game package ever released.

Black Ops is a good game, but to fix some stuff the OP said: I finished the campaign in 5 hours. Decent Multiplayer, some maps are terrible. Nazi Zombies is the same as World At War. Online i FAR from balanced. To put it close to the same league as Half Life is blasphemy. It's an 8.5 at best.

I do enjoy the amount of stats that are kept, theater, wager matches, etc.

Never played it. I really do not have the intention of doing so either.

I've noticed camping is much worse in BO. In MW2 campers wouldn't have the highest score, but in BO they're constantly getting the most kills and there really isn't much you can do to stop them.
