Where is all this notious XBL lag everyone always talks about? In the past monthI have played Gears of War, Splinter Cell, Crackdown, Chromehounds, Shadow run, Battlefield 2, and Halo 3 online. I'm sorry but i do not have any clue what lag you speak of and for that matter the rest of the cows who claim this. I have a good cable connection and i run smooth as butter always. And most of us on live do also. You must have that cheesy 768 grade dsl.

Anyway. Only times you get lag on live is if the game has bad netcode and thats just the developers fault. Live runs very smooth with a good cable connection. You speak on not truth and myths my good buddy.

Just because you do not expierence lag does not mean others have not. I had it with Halo2 and Gears and crackdown and Double Agent. My friends that I was trying to play had the same issues with the same games. So are you saying we imagined the lag since your connection is fine?

The title of this thread suggests there are huge differences betweent the two versions. But all I have seen so far is a bunch of folks splitting hairs and stating personal opinions. :?

I rarely get lag on xbox live... only games i have experienced lag more thena few times was Shadowrun (probably because of the pc to 360 conneciton thing), and Team Fortress 2 (One every 20 games i lag)

Other then that my experience with xboxlive has been fantastic... cant say the same for my sony consoles online though

About the games? Nope. My friend on XBL and I have been playing a bunch on the older games we used to play back in the day. And yeah, they all played pretty smoothly. Except for a spot in Crackdown, but I think that was more about the massive amount of chaos and explosions we were causing at the time. It was madness.

and yeah. the XBL community is good. I kid you not. As with everything on the Internet you will encounter the cocky a**holes with crappy attitudes and the little children, but you also run into a few cool people who you can buddy up with and have a blast with. It balances out for a decent online experience IMO.

Halo 3 is one of the most populated 360 online games right now (like 250,000 to 400,000 people a night online) and I play over a crappy WIFI connection without any lag whatsoever in the 16-man Big Team Battles. I had one disconnect once, but it wasn't XBL it was my freaking router.

XBL is very stable.

the d-pad on the 360 isnt the best for anything, dualshock= racers,fighters,rpgs,ect. the 360 analog sticks has your thumbs placed on odd places on the controller instead of being evenly spread across.IMHO the dualshock two was the best controller ever, it was also crowned so, but this was before the next gen consoles came out. When rumble is added that will add much needed weight to the ps3 controller plus it already has motion control.

Yea you can be right, but the truth hurts, problem is that we're paying *XBOX LIVE* for non-dedicated servers for no reason. It's already been proven before, plus xbox team says it should be free. Besides the only game I know that has dedicated servers is RS...

Sony fans can't keep on with this damn lag story, if the majority of games on the PS3 will not be dedicated, then there will be lag, jesus in a dedicated server you can get lag, it really depends on all the players in that server.

This complaint of mine goes all the way back to the original Playstation, and it's why I've disliked Sony's consoles since they first started coming out with them. Sony isn't known for any first-party titles; Microsoft has Halo. Nintendo has... too many to mention, beginning with Mario and Zelda. Why is it that after all of this time Sony has never committed itself to any actual games? Why does it merely ride on the successes of its third-party developers?

Why would Sony shove a Blu-ray player into their console, driving its price up at the expense of its adoption by gamers? Is it, perhaps, because the PS3 is part of an overall business strategy, rather than being aimed as an actual system for gamers?

It all comes down to the fact that Sony is completely apathetic towards gaming. Of course they'll never bother designing a new controller, instead sticking with one that to this day is still a tweaked, over-buttoned rip-off of the original SNES controller. It's ugly, it's not particularly ergonomic, and it's confusing and unintuitive for newcomers. But what do they care?

hey i'm not saying that live doesn't have jerks, I have to put up with wetback jokes all the time, for some reason if you have a hispanic accent you are automatically a mexican, I'm a grown man, I don't have time to cry about stupidity, but all I'm saying is that PSN does have people that are just as bad. How popular the game is probably a factor as well, but it may also be the type of game that attracts those kind of people/kids. That tells you something about Halo doesn't it? After all, around here, we'll hear no end of how much Resistance and Haze sucks in comparison to Halo and Gears (i.e. Microsoft consumers don't play them).

In which case, even if the multiplayer games I play on PSN aren't as popular as Halo, I'm still happy that my preferred games aren't a jerk-magnet.
