Look, consoles will always be better than PCs in one area that's very critical to mainstream gamers: ease of use. You're not going to convince Granny to play anything PC beyond Solitaire if it involves anything beyond putting in the disc and figuring out which button does what you want to do (A, B, X, O, etc. are much easier to remember than say, "Button 1", which may not even be the same from controller to controller).

Why aren't there PC party games? Platformers?

Why does Madden sell better on consoles than PC?

What about people who want to play on their TV and not have to move their PC or have its precluded by the kids watching cartoons?

I agree with you... But ease to use its a double edged sword: It comes with miserable dumbed down 5 hours lasting games...

Then why haven't we seen a Final Fantasy game on the PC since 8? What about the Dragon Quest games, which haven't seen the PC at all? You can't call these five-hour games. Anyway, there's still the Madden issue, a game which is friendly to both offline multiplayer and controllers, both of which are PC weaknesses (like it or not, controllers are weak on PCs due to a lack of consistency--"Button 1" doesn't hit the same place on every controller).

Well is you want me to compare games what about Diablo2? WoW? how much FF online sucks compared to WoW? And also offline multiplayer is only viable for sports games in which the PC got the WE/PES series that play fine with ANY controller... We can use th Wiimote for christs sake!!! You can use Xbox360 and PS3 controllers... Console games longlivety cannot stand a chance against PC games...

The war between the 360 and PS3 is going to be a dirty one. I am probably just keep my hands out of it.foxhound_fox

why?

Competition between them would be VERY good for us gamers. Better games, better prices, better everything is a result of fierce competition.

That's the main reason why the 16 - but era was so AWESOME for both nintendo and sega fans.

You forget party games, too. Nintendo found a hit with the Mario Party series, IMO, and no one else has been able to come up with a suitable answer.
