Unfortunately a lot of games seem to be lacking in Local play, both Split-Screen (Co-Op, don't care for competitive) or LAN play. Both are awesome features that should not be left out IMO. Unless it simply doesn't fit the game to have it in.

I agree completely. My girlfriend, kids, and I love crowding around the television to play some 360 or Wii. Nothing beats it in my opinion.

They can talk to the people they are next to and to the people from across the room without yelling to them either through a mic or in-game chat. It's not like they suddenly have to choose one form of communication.

And I wouldn't wanna touch that... it reminds me so much of a work space and I play games to relax from my work space, not to be reminded of it.

Yeah, they are all there to relax, but I understand your feelings about it reminding you of a work space. I can't explain it well, but I know what you mean. You wouldn't feel comfortable being away from your home surrounded by all that noise. I do understand it's not for everyone.
