Console gaming is so expensive

you have a ps3 for 350$ 150$ for 3 controllers then you need 1500$ for a good tv then you need to spend 50$ on HDMI cable then you need to buy games that are like 20$ more ,

I could make a pc way more powerful then ps3 for the same price and will have way more features .

Then buy a PC while I enjoy my "expensive" PS3.

In the long run, PC gaming is infinitely cheaper. I've saved probably 500$ this generation.

Both PC and Console gaming can be very similar in price, the difference with PC is it allows for the "enthusiast" market (in the sense of buying more powerful parts).

Both have advantages and disadvantages, and this thread does nothing to dissuade anybody.

Maybe, maybe not. Until we have specs for the PS4, it's all speculation. Yeah, GPU's took a large step this gen, and for the PC we have high performance card, for more "reasonable" prices.

What are you complaing about. As a gamer you should know that gaming is an expensive hobby. Comparing the differences in price in these two platforms is drawing at straws. Spending $50 on a HDMI cable is stupid and pointless and the TV can be used as a computer monitor as well. No one said you have to use a $1500 TV either. That is a luxury not a necessity.Marka1700

A PC costs $700. You might even want to buy a monitor for your computer, so their is another $200, you can use your TV if you want but for me that would be a huge inconvience.

So it's $300 for a 360 or$900 for a PC, so yeah that makes the PC cheaper for sure.

The funny thing about this thread is that many cows and lemmings use the terms 'we can play on our couches/big TVs' as why console gaming is better, yet those items aren't included in their costs of console gaming.

So it would still be$230 to $500 which isstill a pretty bigdifference.

If you live in Canada, you'd know that console games cost at least $30 more than PC games. $70 + %13 tax ($80 total) compared to $50 no tax on Steam. And that's right off the bat, on day-1 that the game is released, without counting the huge sales Steam has.
