Face it guys, The Big Blockbuster Hits will always be Magnified through Consoles and Never through a PC.

I know plenty that would associate Half-Life with the Orange Box on their 360's and Doom on the Sega 32X.

I see this exact ohrase come up alot here. "Consolized trash." And, I'm sorry, it's not true. Just because a console game is "inferior" (which is purley subjective anyways) to a PC game doesn't make it bad. Also, many people act like, because a game is on a console, it's instantly awful. Well, devs can develop games that are as "deep" or whatever as PC games, it's just a question of whether or not they decide to. I mean, I've played a game that is deeper and more complex than some PC games on a handheld.

I'm not saying consoles are better or whatever, but I am saying that they aren't the "trash" some people make them out to be. (And hey, as a change of pace, how about we don't talk about graphics for once?)

Now use your imagination here a minute. Let's say that PCs did not exist. Do you think consoles would exist? The fact is, without PCs, console gaming would not exist. There would be no way to create a console game nor would there be hardware for consoles themselves. PCs also push console hardware development. If they did not, one would still be playing Pong instead of MW2 or a Madden game or any other console game.

The only way that consoles will ever replace a PC is when consoles get better controls and software that allow for content creation and that will not happen for a very long time, if ever. If it does, then that means that console gaming is that much more like PC gaming which throws the normal arguments for console gaming even further out of the window, even more so than it does now.

Not necessarily. I know one game that will be PC exclusive and if it does make it to a console, it will not change to suit the console except for the controls. It will play the same way as the PC version. I don't really care about Gears 3 or Uncharted 3 one bit, not my type of games.

There are many games like that, but when consoles are usually called trash by PC gamers who are angry that a game is coming to consoles (ex: battlefield 3 coming to consoles brought lots of "consolization" theories).

Being an informed shopper > wasting money

There is a handful of games I'd play if I had a 360 or a Wii, and I'll play them if I get the chance, but I will not pay $200 to buy hardware to play them. Instead I'll take that $200+ and get way more PC games with that money than I would have gotten 360 or Wii games.

Playing some PC games like Crysis and The Witcher II, which are supposed to be great games, make me take the words of PC elitists with a grain of salt. These games just aren't any better, and are in many ways worse, than the great console games I've played.

I am not judging the entirety of the PC library based on my experience with these games, and I'm sure there are lots of great PC games, but I am just bouncing comments made about these games against comments made about console games by certain people.

Um... wooo.. out of context a bit there... People stating "consolized trash" are not talking about the platform but a game specifically. For example, a couple years ago, I saw someone call supreme commander 2 "consolized trash" because they took out graphical options, took out many k/m options, took out map editor and lowered the graphics compared to 1. They were not calling other platforms trash but that the game. This is what i've seen when peolpe throw out "consolized trash" Still not a good statement to make but its just what i've seen in SW.

This had to do with what the TC said, it wasn't really directed at you. I said owning all consoles are good, you said that someone might not be interested in other platforms, and then I said that nobody should call another platform trash because an exclusive is heading towards that platform. Sorry, wasn't talking about you specifically :)

Depends, sometimes it's only the game being bashed, but other times people insult both the game and the platform. I've seen many cases (ex: Battlefield 3) where a game is PC exclusive and is heading to consoles, and they call the game consolized while insulting said console and its userbase for being simpletons. A lot of PC gamers believe that PC gaming is the only way to go, and anything else is just a cheap, worthless alternative.
