The funny thing is that hermits brag about maximum possibilities when in reality most of them are Dell kids being medium warriors. TekkenMaster606
Hehe indeed.
Reminds me of when all those monster gaming PC's mysteriously appeared in every Cow's room upon the release of BioShock...
ive got 1280x1024 and im happy on my pc, but i dont know how concole gamers can live with 640p or whatever, i played cod4 on a normal (non-hd) tv on 360 and it was ugly, jaggies everywhere, alot of blurring and low res lookingtextures.
That's not true... I play it on my SDTV all the time and it looks fine. Resolution doesn't change all that much other than making the picture bigger, maybe getting rid of some jaggies.ive got 1280x1024 and im happy on my pc, but i dont know how concole gamers can live with 640p or whatever, i played cod4 on a normal (non-hd) tv on 360 and it was ugly, jaggies everywhere, alot of blurring and low res lookingtextures.

Most console games are 720p with a few being 640p/600p with it being scaled up to 720p/1080p (some are even native1920x1080p). The seperate scaler in the 360 (ANA)is very good and there is no way the even most hardcore could tell the difference. Plus 1900x1200 PC monitors are only on the 26" widescreen monitors and up. Which usually run from $500 to multiple thousands ofdollars. Which IMO is really lame considering you could get a 32"-50" 720p/1080p LCD tv for around the same price and is much more enjoyable for gaming and movie watching.
As for the game being unplayable get real they first demo'd the game on 360 hardware. If they thought it looked like such crap they would of demo'd it on the PC. BTW not every PC game runs fantastic at high resolutions either.
i never knew that resolution made a better game.........GuitartodAnd I never knew a $400 PC (from scratch--no upgrades) could pump out 1080p60 graphics.

So why do the consoles Advertise it like its some magically breakthrough that existed nearly 10 years ago?
idk why dont u ask their PR departments... not me noob
I think you already know the anwser, the higher the resolution, the better it looks, the better it is. "noob"

Now who's the idiot? I would think you'd have noted the blatent sarcasm. That's always the thing about PCs vs. consoles--bang for the buck. If all one wants to do is pop in and play games, consoles offer simplicity and a slimmer price tag. Don't believe me? Why do you think the Wii is still selling so well?Because HD is a load of BS.
Nobody cares/can tell the difference.
Relys
lol, sorry but the difference between SD and HD is instantly obvious and HD is far better.
By the looks of things you have a Wii :|

I never said the entire game quaity, but it ups the visual quality, making it better than it is without it.
Oh dear, reading comprehension isnt your strong point I guess, neither is common langauge decency, you got defensive so fast :D

there a lot of hate from hermit toward 720p resolution for myself i play game on 1080p on my 360 but hermit tell upscale resolution doesn't count but nobody seem capable to show me the difference between a upscale game screenshot and a native 1080p all they say is native is better !
This thread is made of t3h funny stuff. Bragging about how consoles graphics look ugly on SD screens yet you can't even run Crysis at a value that makes it "t3h bestest looking game ever." What a contradiction.
&
"HD" is a new ploy created to take advantage of that bill the federal government/FCC passed a year ago stating that all broadcasting must be at least 1280 by 720 res. by 2009. Digital Television Transition Act is what it's called. When you take into account that there are no SDTVs in stores now and that HDTVs can be bought for $300, I would market my product to take advantage of the inevitable evolution of technology.
Toshiba and MSFT are on the same bandwagon as far as high definition media goes, why not advertise your product that compliments your partners venture. It serves an actual purpose, not just to make things look pretty.
& No one cares if the PC has been capable of it for years and no one cares that games run at 600p.
*Goes back to playing Crysis at 640x480 @ 3fps*
[QUOTE="UserFrenly_Noob"]how do you noobs live with thisdk_2007
Just like some people live with small monitors 20 to 30 inch in comparison to 50+ inch HDTVs of consolites.
Life size graphics FTW. :D
exactly, i use my 19"monitor with my 360, it looks just as good as my friends 26" flatscreen.
[QUOTE="Mad_Rhetoric"]the resolution also takes it toll on framerate
WhySoCry
yeah, for consoles. On games for PC (with the exception of crysis) most games run smoothly up to 2560x1600. Where a 8800GTX can run oblivion maxed 2560x1600 better then the X360 or PS3 @ 1280x720.
at what framerate though?theres still going to be a loss on framerate no matter what, even if it is a small amount
I got PS3 games doing 1920x1080 and I have a tv that actually shows the differnce so dont really see your point.

Um most graphically impressive games on pc wont dream of running 2560x1600 resoulution at a reasonable framerate . Look at Bioshock, Crysis and other big name titles .

30+ FPS.
As I said Crysis is a exception due to the fact that it looks better then anything out there. And what other big titles stress PC hardware at 2560x1600?
